Got my riva 510 se on thursday and have not had an analog since Friday! I am having some small cravings for a regular but think its because the liquids i got are just okay. I ordered some more so hoping having some variety will help! Had quit for six years but picked up an analog a couple of months ago and boom was back hooked to them! So far the ecigs are really helping and hoping i dont go pick up a pack Tomorrow!

I don't know if it this is sound advice. When i started vaping, i really had no intention of getting off analogs. I didn't keep track of the analogs i was or was not smoking. Before i knew it, i had completely forgotten about my pack of cigarettes and had no cravings whatsoever to smoke. My point is, don't pressure yourself. Whether you like it or not, since you've already taken the first step by vaping, i'm quite confident, there's no turning back.

Welcome to the vaping world!

I agree. I was a very heavy smoker (over 3 packs a day), and I'd been smoking over 30 years. When I started vaping, I was told not to push, not to feel like I had to quit all at once, just to vape when I wanted to vape, smoke when I wanted to smoke, and that it would come naturally. And that was good advice. I've had a pretty easy transition.

First of all, its good to know that you are enjoying vaping. I have never smoked after I started vamping, I had a bit of craving here and there, but they are all psychological as the moment I vaped, the urge to smoke was gone. However, I kept a pack of cigarette just in case i needed it. Then I gave it to my wife for safekeeping. Last week she disposed the pack. So basically I have no backups now; which 2 months back would be a nightmare and I would probably be driving miles just to buy a backup!!!

I agree that you should not pressure yourself, just enjoy vamping when you can...its a better experience.

I was one of the lucky ones who has never had the urge to smoke an analog after my very first vape and it's been more than 2 years. I took my last pack of cigs (with 7 left) and put them in a drawer and they are still there. Just having them there I think was a good thing because it was one less thing to think about - having to go out and get cigs if I needed to. So keeping a pack handy might work good for you too.

Just be sure to keep your e-cig handy, always available, nearby, within reach. If you get the urge, just relax and vape away and you will be celebrating your 1st year smoke free before you know it.

Congrats on your success so far!

I love these success stories. And now I'm starting to feel like one myself. Ten days today....which doesn't sound like much until I realized I have passed up 200 cigarettes! I have ordered a Riva 510 and it should be here tomorrow, so would like to know what you think of yours. Right now I'm using a Joye 510, but it seems like it needs topping off every 20 minutes or so. Or maybe that's because I'm using it too much....

The success stories on ECF gave me hope that it would work for me. I didn't really believe I could quit, and when I first started vaping, I expected to try it for awhile and be right back to smoking all the time, just like every other attempt to quit. The people here posting about how it had worked (or was working) for them was very important to me in the early days.

Now it's been 144 days for me. 4 months and 21 days. At my pre-vaping rate, that means over 8,500 cigs that I would have smoked if I hadn't started vaping. I was such a heavy smoker, it's easy for me to buy pretty much any vaping related thing I want (I have eGo's, a Buzz Pro, a madvapes VV box mod, and a lavatube, for instance) and I still save money. I love that I don't smell like a smoker anymore and don't stink up everything around me. It's great that I can use it in bars and restaurants where I wouldn't be able to smoke. And of course, compared to smoking, it's so much healthier.

A month or so ago, I smoked 4 cigs, because I went out dancing and after I was almost there, I realized I had left my PV at home. I'm glad that happened, because those cigs tasted horrible. I'd been told "After you've been vaping, a real cig will taste terrible", but I didn't really believe it until then. That helped remove any lingering wish for a cigarette.

It did take me over 2 months from my first eGo purchase until I was off the cigs. I now know that I needed a higher nic juice to get off the cigs. (I was vaping 24, but I needed some 30 nic juice right after meals when I would get cravings.) Once I started using the higher nic juice , quitting was easy. And as time has passed, I've started lowering the nic level I'm using, which is working well, and I'm down to 18 and expecting to drop to 12 before long.

It's a pocket sized miracle. But I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten off the cigs if it wasn't for the success stories and advice that I found here on ECF.
