In your bushes, watching you undress
I'm sure all of my future experiences won't be quite this good, but so far it has been fun!

First one was in a restaurant that I go to regularly. Before I used my e-cig, I asked the manager if it was ok... just to be safe. He asked me what it was, and I went over everything... he said "as long as no one else really flips out like a crazy person, I don't care"... so I enjoyed using it for the 1st time in public for the hour or so that we were there.

The guys by us who were eating that heard me tell the manager about it were in awe of how cool the concept was. They came over and asked a few questions, and said they planned on looking into one for themselves.

Then today I went to another restaurant, and had an equally pleasant experience. Again, was asked by the few people who noticed me using it, and all comments were positive.

I did notice in both places however that people walking by would catch a quick glimpse of me exhaling.. and would be momentarily stunned... then they realized that I wasn't using a real cigarette and they kept walking.

Had anyone had a real issue with it, I simply would have put it away, but it sure was nice to feel free like "the old days" of smoking anywhere you wanted to.

    Somewhere between here and there
That sounds really cool. I have not tried anything like that yet. The only places I have been vaping is in the garage at home, in the car, and at work. I am excited though about vaping at work. I can vape in my repair shop as I am by myself most of the day and when someone comes in(like my boss) they can't even tell that I have been doing it.

Glad you've had positive experiences and have treated each case with the respect of the owners. This is important for all of us. This is the way to spread the word on a positive note.

I couldn't agree more - respecting others should still be our top concern. Just because we know the facts doesn't mean everyone else does. I know if I saw someone vaping in a restaurant before I knew about PVs, I would have thought it was smoke for sure, and been quite puzzled.

Glad to hear your experiences were so rewarding. I've not had the gall to vape pubicly yet, but I'm sure the day is right around the corner.

I vape in public all the time. I live in Michigan though, where you can still smoke in most restaurants. Every one in a while I'll catch people across the room looking over at my blue LED with puzzling looks on their faces, haha. I get mixed reactions, all the smokers I know think its the most amazing thing they have ever seen, and most of the non-smokers just think its stupid. Stupid or not, I'd rather vape any day than smoke.

I went to the casino last night and had noticed they had signs saying you could smoke e-cigs, so i was getting ready to play poker (in the poker room) and asked the guy there if i could smoke e-cigs. To my suprise he said yes, i asked if this goes for everywhere in the casino, again he said yes. So about 30 minutes into playing i hit a bad beat, so i decided to pull out the e-cig. Noone said a thing or even looked at me strangely. So the rest of the night i sat there puffing away and refilling as needed. It was quite a cool experience ;)

I have had no negative instances of vaping in public; to be honest with you, I havent really had any one even take notice.
For instance, I went to Washington DC (BTW, I checked, and the FDA offices were closed on Sat :D) this weekend, and vaped all day. In a town where you cant even find a soda for under $3.00, I wasnt about to even think about trying to get ahold of any analogs (Not quite off them yet... getting closer tho).
Anyways, I vaped pretty much everywhere, but not flaunting it inside; take a small drag with my KB, hold it a little longer than usual, and slowly exhaling; Very little vapor to speak of. I did this throughout the Smithsonian muesems, and the subway, and no one even took a second glance at me. It was a little puzzling, but the less attention I get the better.
My wife loves it, her being a staunch non smoker.

Finally joined although I have been reading this forum for the past four months. There is a wealth of knowledge here and I cannot express how helpful these threads have been to me. I have been vaping for over a month and finally took my prodigy out to a friends birthday party where I knew many people would be exiting the bar to smoke their analogs. The reactions I received when I took out my Prodigy and vapped along side the smokers were - well - they were interesting. My best buddy, who I had not told yet about my vapping, stood wide eyed and his exact words were, "What are you doing? Are you taking drugs? Throw that away!" After explaining it, showing it to him and convincing him to try the Prodigy, he simply gave it back to me, said "wierd" and didn't mention a word about it again. Three other friends tried it and I too explained what it was to them and the basic knowledge of vapping to them. They all tried it and received it rather well. I was actually stunned that none of them knew anything about vapping. The best reaction I got was when I was leaving I got into some insane discussion about New York baseball history with this one guy who offered me a parliament. I said "No thanks," showing him my Prodigy. He just looked at me and harmfully laughed and said rather confused, "Okay!"
