The "FINE" place
I have been lurking around on this forum boards for quite awhile now. Just thought of sharing some experience with the vets here and maybe with the new people who are just approaching this method of quitting their habits on analogs.

Its been 2 months since i have quit analogs, and i am just loving it.Now i can walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like i am half dead before even reaching the next landing.I smell better than before, no more smoke smell stuck on my clothes and on my hair.

Was a PAD smoker for 20 years. Been trying to quit analogs ever since i had some trouble breathing and chest pains about a few month back.I'm telling you, it's scary that you are fine one day, and gasping for breath the next.Didn't want to worsen the situation by continuing with analogs so i decided it was time to quit. Well i had tried to quit several times before by trying gums and patches but it just did not work out well for me. Even bought a pack of drinking straws hoping it would stave off the craving by chewing on it. Didn't work out too well lol :p.

So i was looking around for other alternatives and discovered this site. But i was still confused about what i should get and how i go about getting it.Unknowingly, a friend of mine has actually started vaping for awhile, and gave me some recommendations as to where to get a starter kit. Since getting my hands on a EGO T kit with a mini nova, i have never looked back.

Now i am thinking of mixing my own juice and this forums is full of the kind of info that i need.Thank you ECF. And to all converts, happy vaping to a healthier lifestyle :thumbs::headbang:

Congratulations Kin. I never grow tired of hearing stories like yours. PAD smoker here for 37yrs and I swear it was like magik when I got my first 901 cig-a-like. The diy is not that hard, I think I jumped right in after about 3 wks. Just find yourself a good e-juice calculator, the initial cost for supplies, do the reading and research and off you go. Plenty of vets in the diy subforum to help you out along the way.

all the best

My congrats, too.

I had smoked for 30 years. I work in the medical field, surgery actually, and knew the risks. I'd tried the gum and patches, Welbutrin (talk about some SCAREY dreams!), and hypnosis (group and solo). None worked.

Mother died early this year of cancer. That seriously got me thinking about my own mortality. Coincidentally about that time I saw my first e-cig in a convenience store, was curious, and bought one. It wasn't too bad and I could see that something like that could work if I was motivated. And I was.

I searched google for information on e-cigs, and luckily one of the links was this website. Spent hours reading comments and recommendations. Within a few days I ordered my first starter kit from Smokeless Image, and the rest is history.

While allowing myself a few cigarettes during the first few days of starting vaping, the cigs became less satisfying and I found I actually prefered vaping. After that last pack became empty, I never bought another one.
