Hello ECF!

I'm a 20-year smoker, 32 years old, and have recently picked up vaping. I can not believe I haven't touched an "analog" for 2 whole weeks now!!

I know that's not long for some of you, but coming from someone who's pretty much been smoking all of my life, this has been a life-changing experience for me. I simply did not know what life would be like without smoking.

I never felt that smoking has affected my health much. I could perform my daily tasks, run and exercise just fine, always smoked about 8 ~ 10 / day. But what's been driving me crazy is the life style - stinky breath, stinky cloths and hands, constantly chewing gum, washing hands or using sanitizer, feeling guilty smoking in public places, checking in and out of airports during transfers to smoke (I'm a frequent traveler), hiding from my parents, coworkers, clients, vendors... etc. I WAS GOING CRAAAAAZY!

Now, I'm free. The chain has been broken. I've never been happier!

I hope to make some friends here, and after 5 posts, I'm going to start a thread in an appropriate section to talk about my recent pleasant experience with Mt. Baker Vapor.

Thank you all so much for your experience, wisdom and opinions! Thank you all for helping me get off smoking!!!

I'm new to vaping too. I love it. I quit smoking by dipping 3 years ago (best decision I ever made), now I have gave up dipping for vaping. I was pretty addicted to dip and dipped all day long except when I ate. I bought a disposable ecig and was hooked. The next day I bought a rechargeable one, and quit dipping immediately with no issues. Transitioning from smoking to dip was a lot harder and I went back to smoking many times before I was able to be satisfied by just dipping to get my fix. From what I remember vaping on my new provari is in every way as satisfying as smoking was, but tastes way better without all the negatives.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

ryback81, I've heard the term "dipping" here on the forum. What does that mean?

Chew......some call it dipping......dripping here is when you have a Drip Atty and drip the ejuice right on to the atty....the standing opinion is lots of flavor and vape.....I say it's a great way to test new juices without having to change tanks and cartos.

wow... thank you so much guys! Really appreciate all the encouragement! :toast:

So dipping is by dripping the juice directly into the atomizer? Does that mean you have to open the mouth piece, drip, vape, then keep repeating the process? That's a lot of work...

What's steeping then?

Dripping, folks get a drip tip. Like, oh, here's one a 801 Black Delrin Drip Tip just for example (and I use Value Vapor just because I buy from them so the site is bookmarked, easy to nab). You can just drip right through the tip. Or its easy to pop on and off.

"Steeping" is getting the ingredients of the liquid to mix well. A lot of e-liquids are handcrafted. Made when you order. The flavorings and such may not be as well mixed as you would want since the juice was prepared so recently. I know I've gotten some where the flavor is really strong at first then fizzled as I got down closer to the bottom of the bottle. I don't do much in terms of "steeping" but do make sure to shake the bottles pretty good to encourage the ingredients to mix. Lots of varying opinions on this one. You have to find what works for you. But I'd at least shake the bottles pretty good. Back when I got started with filling my cartos myself, I had a small bottle of a flavor to try and it was really, really good but only about half way through the bottle. The flavor kind of "fizzled out". Very disappointing.

Ah, here's a thread about steeping.
