So, just thought I'd throw an update in here. I went the whole day without lighting up! And it feels fantastic! I hit a couple rough spots where I was very tempted to, but I got through it. I also thought I was in trouble when my Protank stopped firing. But I handled it, like a boss, and rebuilt the atomizer head. So now I've got that baby cranking at 1.3 ohms and doing just fine. First smokeless day, and first rebuild. Today was a great day. And it only took me two tries to get the coil right!

Well done!

If this were AA, we'd give you a 24-hour sobriety chip, considered by many to be the most significant one (one day at a time, after all).

And I would take that chip with pride! I couldn't be happier! And thank you very much! I find I can do things I didn't think I could when forced to. I should probably invest in a back-up atomizer of some kind...

Um, duh, lol. Get it ASAP. No joke. And get another one to back that up.

Congratulations! I really wanted a cigarette the second day but didn't want to break the "streak" either. It gets easier, honest. Get one of the counter banners, it helped me. I'd want to smoke, I'd stare at the banner. You done good, keep up the good work! :)

Congratulations, and Welcome to ECF. Like you, I have a friend who just gave me a starter kit, some ejuice, and a very helpful link. I tapered off of cigarettes for about 6 weeks - it took me that long to use up the 9-10 cartons I had stashed away! But when I got to that last cigarette, it tasted awful and made me cough like crazy. That was on 6/26. I'll admit I've wanted a cigarette occasionally, but not having any around makes it easier. I'd have to go out to get some if I was really intent on it, and since my vaping gear is sitting right here...WHY? So now I'm like a kid in a toy store with all the new toys out there. I'll start saving money someday! But there are a couple new clearomizers I want to try, and maybe a Tesla, and about 40 different juices... (see what I mean?) LOL!

So anyway, congrats and keep going.

I just quit yesterday, looking forward to begin vaping after everything arrives in the mail. Since I haven't seen many people go back to smoking after making the switch, I'm very, very hopeful.

I smoked over 40 years. I tried everthing to quit, and I mean everything from hypnosos go prescription drugs, inhalers, patches, gum, guilt trips. ritual burning of mountains of cigarettes to ripping them up and flushing and even gave away an entire carton thinking that was it (it wasn't and had to run buy another carton the next day). Some other cures just about did me in. A decent low-end ecig with vapable juice at a high enough nic level did it for me. It took some work but my ecig and me, we made it through together. Most folks seem to have a nausiatingly easy time making ti switch. I hope you do too!

You are off to a great start because you have a great attitude. I haven't been vaping all that long, but I can still remember how bad the last cigarette tasted to me. I hope I never forget. Vaping just tastes so much nicer I thinks that why it doesn't even bother me to be around smokers other than the smell. heehee I'm sorry I ever smoked around anyone now that I know how bad they smell. Good luck to you and I hope to read future posts letting us know just how good you are feeling.

Fell off the wagon today. My PV was acting up and I just got so frustrated. Broke down and smoked an analog. Tried rebuilding the coil on my protank (again) and just couldn't get it right this time. Messed up coils. Then I got a good coil and wick. Shorted out somewhere. My ohms are jumping everywhere and won't stay consistent. Eventually I ran out of kanthal and patience and lit up another one. So now I have no atomizer so no way to vape. And no money to get something even for the time being. This is going to be the true test...

I'm gonna try and scrounge up some money to go to the vape shop and get something. But all my money goes towards getting to work right now since I just got the job. And that would be absolutely amazing of you! I would appreciate that more than words can discribe! You are far too kind. I may be able to limp through until then. I can get a vape off my shorting coil every now and again, so I'm not 100% out of luck. But I am desperate.
