2 Weeks Later After My First eCig - Some Thoughts

My breathing is much better. Deeper breaths.
My lungs are no longer filled with a ton of phlegm in the morning.
My coughing is down probably 80 percent.
The other day after being awake about an hour,
I asked my wife if she heard me coughing this morning.
She said 'no.'
I told her that's because I hadn't been coughing :)

I can smell the nicotine in my house now from the 42 years of smoking.
Will have to re-decorate and re-paint everything.

I still have no urge whatsoever to smoke an analog.

I am finding my craving for nicotine is actually going down.
Compared to an analog smoke, I use the ecig less.
With a real smoke, you are pretty much committed to smoking the whole thing at once.
But not so with an ecig :)
I use what I need and stop.

Burned a cartomizer on two separate occasions.
One time because I didn't know any better when to re-fill one.
The other time was when I filled a new empty cartomizer,
and went to use it before allowing the juice to soak in enough.
Lesson learned >> I never want to taste a burned cartomizer again.

Congradulations. The only thing I had to overcome was the need for the other trash that your body gets used too in cigs. I love getting up out of bed and actually feel alive without coughing a lung up. And energy...wow. I didn't think I had any until I quit.

Yes, carto filler tastes terrible. I went through that also. In fact, I think we all did at some point.

Now the fun really begins for you. THE JUICE! What kind have you tried?

I've tried over a dozen already, three different vendors too..
I was a menthol smoker, and when I would do an occasional cigar, I did cherry.
So I pretty much stick with those two flavors.

What I haven't figured out yet is the correct pg/vg ratio.
Still experimenting on that one.
Is there a percentage of the pg/vg mix that is most liked? 50/50?

I got my PV 13 days ago and have been analog-free every since. I was a 40 year smoker, frustrated and disappointed at all of my failures to quit smoking. The minute I got my PV, I haven't wanted or needed a cig since!!! Woo Hoo!!! I am breathing much easier, don't have that phlegmy cough in the morning or evening or all day, I smell better and my breath is soooooo much sweeter! =) True freedom! It's funny when I realize how hard habits are to break...like driving past the AmPm and, just for an instant, my mind returns to cataloging whether or not I need to buy cigarettes before I go home...then I instantly remember that I don't need to buy them anymore =) Funny how the mind works.

I am at 3 weeks in now and I say that vaping is the easiest way to quit analogs. I have tried multiple times to quit but could never really stick to it. I just hope the smoking Nazis never get their way and get it banned or over tax it.

Is it just me, are some of you getting more vivid dreams too? Maybe I just remember them more due to my less toxic bloodstream.

Words right out of my mouth! And as for the vivid dreams, could it be the nicotine levels you're vaping are a little high? From experience, I know that's a side-effect of the patch.

I've only been a couple weeks *completely* smoke-free. We actually got our kits just after Thanksgiving and we quit smoking that same day. But then we unfortunately had a defective recharger (which got replaced free of charge), but during the week we waited for the new recharger to get here, we had to go back to smoking analogs. It was the *worst* week of my smoking years. I *hated* the taste, the smell, the fact I had to go outside again (we've never smoked inside this house). After two days having to smoke those analogs, I was coughing and wheezing again, had to go back on my asthma inhaler - and actually felt *depressed*.

Then our replacement recharger got here (and my PCC the next day) and we haven't had an analog since then. Like you, I've completely stopped coughing, no wheezing as I lay down and try to sleep, no "stuffy" nose, have only had to use my asthma inhaler once, have more energy, am just starting to smell and taste things better. But the very BEST thing of all - I feel GOOD about myself!

I am using 24mg nic lvl now, I may dilute some for night time vapes to avoid the weird dreams. Thanks for the tip.

At 3 weeks, I already converted 2 smokers to vapers. Hopefully I can finally convert my wife over so I don't get second hand smoke neither. I have an aunt that is a smoke nazi staying with us for the holidays, and she does mind me vaping even in the house. But she complains to the smokers on my patio everyday.

Still working on converting my wife. Although her best friend is going to be ordering a kit after Christmas so I think my wife will be soon to follow. She has her own kit already as I bought one for her when I ordered mine but she only uses it occasionally. Hopefully she will come over to our side so I can stop buying analogs once and for all.

Congrats, tomus. I also noticed that I stopping coughing after I started vaping. What a relief that was, because my cough always sounded like I had pneumonia. Feel much better now, and I like the fact that my clothes don't stink. One co-worker (an ex-smoker) would make a remark in the elevator to the effect: "I know you've been out for a smoke break." No more. :)

Keep up the good work!!

Yeah, I bought a kit for my wife for Christmas, but I had to use one of the batteries since one in my original kit died. I got replacements now though, and she'll like those better since they are 510 megas with blue lights.
