2 year old eliquid

I know this has been discussed before but nobody seems to have input from the vendors selling them SO I have just emailed my vendor. I ordered 13 - 30 ml bottles from a Canadian vendor, got the order quickly but all the juice has the DOB date of 2013 and 2014. They were on sale for $10 a bottle but I didn't think I would get juice this old. I will let everyone know what they have to say as I asked them if this stuff is safe to vape, as it will do me for 1 year. I got the 24 mg/ml and separated it into 3 bottles to which I added my own base, to make it go further as I only vape around 10 mg/ml. Will be interesting to see what they say :)

Well, today I got an answer about my juice and this was their reply.

Hello Bonnie,

Thank you for your inquiry, your concerns are quite understandable. Liquids tend to have a best before date due to nicotine degradation over time but most are still safe to vape pas their best before date. As long as the liquid isn't comprised of mostly vegetable glycerin, it shouldn't go off due to the hydrolytic properties of proplyene glycol which prevents bacterial growth, though you may notice that flavors become more muted and soft over time. At this point, the expiry date of e-liquids has not been officially established. Please let me know if you would like further information, I'm happy to help.

I expect it varies by brand and flavor. I have had Halo menthols that were two years old and identical to fresh ones, but they may be the exception, as it is pretty transparent liquid and they were sealed bottles. Opened bottles probably have a much shorter period before their flavor profile may shift.

I wouldn't think there's much risk as we vaporize the liquid at higher temperatures.

I'd love some feedback on this too as have 30ml from Liqua that I found in a cupboard and the BBD is July 2015... Wonder if it would still be okay to vape and what if any are the dangers...?

I was not aware that because eliquids are on sale, that the companies were selling 2 and 3 year old juices, that is not right if they do not tell you it is old stock !

I just received a couple of 60ml dark glass bottles that were born in December. I think HOW they were stored is more important. I also think dark glass bottles are good.

I am not worried. Actually, the liquid in the bottles will be VAPORIZED. Maybe they won't taste good, but I don't worry about disease, etc.

Sorry, but I will disagree.

There is a big difference between MY ejuice that I've decided to store for 2 years, and an actual ejuice vendor sending out ejuice that is 2 years old to their customers.

I am even surprised to see it happening. never have seen that before

Bad or not, doubt it will hurt you , but on principle, I know of no ejuice vendor that I"ve ever dealt w/who sends out ejuice that is expired by 2 years.

Like anything else organic, e-juice isn't in stasis while sitting somewhere in a bottle.

Is a bit like wine: some vintages can be stored for a long time and improve with age ( like most vapers ;) ), and some will 'tilt' fairly early ( like ANTZ ;) ) .

Mixed some spearmint for a buddy - he didn't like it much, but didn't toss it either. Just last week he told me that - being fresh out of refills - he had another go with my spearmint just out of sheer desparation and it tasted great ( boils down to about 10 weeks steeping time ).

So these expiry dates are aren't cast in iron. However, there is a lot of difference between me deciding for myself to vape something thats past its 'best before' date or some vendor delivering stuff thats been sitting in storage beyond that date. Exposes a vendor to all sorts of legal hazzles.

that was my stance. :)

I've been vaping 3.5 years and never have received eliquid that is past due date, on sale or otherwise, directly from a vendor.

Seems like a VERY ODD practice.

I don't know of one legitimate ejuice manufacture that sells 3 year old juice, I also don't know any "vendors" that stockpile enough for every flavor / mg/ml to last 2- 3 years and would be my last order from them to say the least..................
