This is a repost from the new members forum. i was told this is a better venue :)
Battery: Sony 30 amp (very good battery)
Mod: Nzonic
RBA:trident

so... ive been playing around with 24 gauge wire and 3mm wick
tried:
1. micro coil (using drillbits), 4 coils (on outside) (3 on inside) pulling one folded wick through pretty snug.
2. hand wrapping 4 coils around 4 strings of wicks.

my builds naturally have been reading at .2-.3 ohms right off the bat.

and the consistency of my builds are all over.. when i try to do it all exactly the same.

Verdict: the coils always heat up good, and juice goes flying off the coils like fireworks.
if its just one of those lucky coils ill get huge clouds with amazing flavor... (what i really want)

BUT
1. so no matter what ill get ok vapor at the least... but just not always crazy clouds.
AND
2. sometimes ill get good flavor and sometimes i get no flavor

what i know
1. lower ohms, less resistence = more current

so what i want to do is know how to perfect it and keep it consistent.

1. more coils, more length = ?
2. can you make a higher resistance coil perform and heat up just as good? (eveness and speed)?
3. spacing out the coils vs. having them really close or even touching?
3. how do you up the resistance? move farther from post? bigger diameter on coils? more coils?

so in the end all these questions dont have to be specifically answered, im just trying to give the people who are attempting to help a feel of my curiousity so they can provide good help :)

Thanks you all who have taken the time to read this! :)

I'm thinking that your coil diameter has to be much bigger than a micro. With 10 wraps of 27 ga 1 get around 1 ohm. Try using a 1/16" drillbit or something else that is 1/16" or slightly smaller in diameter. I also think 24 ga may be too thick?

I personally favor 27 and 30 ga for different setups. 27 ga for 1 ish ohm builds and 30 ga for 2 ish ohm builds.

A true micro coil (1/16" diameter with touching wraps) will likely yield MUCH better results than the big ol' 3/4 wrap coils :)

As long as you have a battery that can handle the amps being discharged through it you can go lower than .5 ohms although I don't really see the need to do that at a certain point I don't think you'll get much more flavor or vapor out of your juice and coil setup. Go to low and all you'll wind up with is a dead battery and or non resistance coil.

my latest attempt is still 24g but i did 5/6 wrap around a 3/32" screw driver with a folded wick (so 2 strands inside) at .5 ohms. flavor is getting better and clouds are pretty good so far.

Ok, now try a 1/16" screwdriver or drillbit or finishing nail etc...and get your wraps touching or as close as possible like this :)
