So a new vape shop opened in my city,I go to check it out.I start looking at all the juice. I find a couple that I would like to try.I tell the guy that I want them in 24 mg,he looks at me like I'm crazy. He says that the highest he has in his store is 12 on any of his stuff ( about 50 or 60 juices ). And that all "premium" juice in the near future will only be sold at 6 or lower. I really have a hard time believing him, but I didn't say anything. I have been vaping 24mg for over 2 years now. Is there any truth to this or is he misinformed. What do you think?

I have noticed the trend, more and more vape shops/eliquid manufacturers not selling anything above 12mg mainly catering to the subohm crowd as they vape low mg/nic. It's not a good thing in my book as it shuts out a lot of beginner vapers who need a higher level of nic to start off with to get off the cigs and it shuts out vapers who do not subohm and use higher levels. It is a lot more profitable for them to sell to the subohm crowd not only because of the reduced cost of lower nic but a lot of them burn through a lot of juice quickly some 10ml-30ml a day.

Well, it's getting harder to find. Many newer vendors seem to be limiting nic levels and even PG/VG ratios.

I started with 24mg, and currently using 18mg on a daily basis in tanks and drippers. I can only tolerate 12mg in a dripper, but it still lacks the throat hit I need.

While the liquid vendors try to bolster their bottom line, they are missing out on the larger market of new vapers who need the higher nic level, but make up for it with the sub-ohm crowd who need to buy higher quantities with the lower levels. I just won't buy their stuff.

Actually the majority of vapers use pen/cigalike/ego style vapes
Oh ok must just be the people I know then,I don't know anyone who vapes and uses those. Since most of my friends vape and they all use mods & rdas and stuff I figured that's what people did now. But I do pretty much live in my own little world so me not knowing that makes sense lol.

As long as there's a market for higher nic (>12mg) it will be available, but it may become more scarce as Ω's decrease and units become more powerful. The only pre-mix juice I buy comes from a local B&M who puts a 12mg ceiling on premium (max VG) and 24mg on standard (50-70 VG).

So yeah, definitely a downward trend, but nothing to worry about quite yet if you're vaping high nic pre-mix.

It really just boils down to how well something sells, if ejuice makers and vape shops were experiencing a high volume of 18-24mg nic sales they wouldn't be cutting them out. Places that mix-to-order obviously don't have to worry about unsold product sitting on a shelf so you should always be able to find juice from those places.

I know how it feels to have the market go somewhere other than where you happen to be, it sucks, but the people making those decisions aren't stupid or mean, they are just doing what makes the most sense for their business.

Less nic means you just sell more juice that is cheaper to manufacture.

What's hard to understand?

That might be a fair comparison if we were all just nicotine junkies looking for pure nic, but high-strength nic is easily sourced and not what we want. It's the flavors (and the time/skill/effort required to produce/mix those flavors) that we are paying for when buying juices and that cost is the same regardless of nicotine strength.

And If the flavors aren't the important part than it shouldn't matter what juice makers are doing since you just vape 48mg unflavored VG base ;)

It has to do with the trend in vaping towards sub-ohms. While it may be true that the majority of vapers still use cig-alike devices and e-cig pens, it is DEFINITELY true that the MAJORITY of vapers who frequent vape shops sub-ohm. The people who spend the most on a regular basis in vape shops usually vape 0mg-6mg, and go for the clouds. They participate in cloud comps, buy all the new drippers and 100w+ devices, etc , etc.

Now, if you have a vape shop that makes their own juice, like I do (VapeRite), then you have no prob, they will whip up whatever you need. However, if your vape shop orders exclusively from e-liquid vendors, it isn't worth it for them to order 18mg or 24mg because it will sit on the shelf forever. The juice they probably sell is "Max VG" juice.....which is pretty much used exclusively for dripping, RTAs, or sub-ohm tanks (therefore lower nic).

Hope you find a vape shop that better suits your needs!

Yes that about sums it up, we have 3 shops in my town and they all are this way. But I don't understand, when you stop smoking ,6mg is not gonna be much help if you smoked anything more than an ultra lite.

Lol. Yeah most random people I see vaping are using pens. Us coming to this forum regularly being vapaholics, it's easy to assume everyone has nice boxes and subohm tanks. Most of my friends don't even know what I'm talking about, and they vape lol. I do see lots of isticks now too though.

I don't know but in my area the highest anyone sells is 12mg. I weaned down from 18 in the past couple of months. I had been at 18 for over two years. I made it ok :)
