So, I was six years behind you. Boomers rule! :) And, grew up in turbulent times. I saw a comment posted on YouTube yesterday by a youngster who stated they had never SEEN a turntable before. I once handed a grocery store cashier a Kennedy Half Dollar as part of a purchase. She held the coin in the palm of her hand, staring at it, slack jawed ... I asked her if she'd ever seen a Kennedy Half before. She had not.

We're cool.
Reminds me of when I went to a credence concert at the fair and the girl at the hamburger stand said I never heard of Credence Clearwater revival. Boy did I feel outdated.

Oh ya I'm a big queen fan but what about "the low spark of high heeled boys"? That was a good tune. Today I listen to today's music rap, etc. Took a minute to get used to but thats what I listen to. But it's not as good as the 70s, 80s and even into the 90s.
I remember getting our first tv. It replaced that great big radio that was half the size of a refrigerator. The tv had a round black and white picture on it.

I could be quoted as saying in 1975 that, "nothing could be worse than disco" ... RAP proved me to be WRONG. I'm sorry, I just can't listen to RAP. I don't care what the lyrics are, I can't get past the sound of it.

About the TV. When I was in the 4th grade, I was assigned by my teacher to watch some show. My family did not own a TV at the time and I had to tell her I couldn't do the assignment. That was 1964. At that time, I guess most households had TVs, but mine didn't. At that time, most houses in my area didn't have air conditioning either. We had window fans, and attic fans. And lucky houses, like my parent's (therefore mine) had nice shade trees.

Sometimes school teachers don't think to hard. I think it was 1952 or 53 we got our tv. I remember when the princess phone came out we thought it was the hit. We had this radio before the tv that was about 4ft high by 2ft wide. That was the intertainment center.

Hits in 1976! Not too impressed here! I actually prefer the songs before and after!! Absolutely NO rap or jazz. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music but those are 2 that I do not do!!!!8-o
