2600mah eGo battery in Lavatube?

So I've got a Lavatube from Apollo ecigs on order, and I was curious if the 18650 battery in my 2600mah eGo from Health Cabin will play nice with it, it appears to be the same size but the one in the lavatube appears to be 1600mah, and I'd hate to have the thing blow up on me!

(I would have posted this in the Lavatube section, but alas I'm still "new". This is what I get for lurking.)

Thanks in advance ECF!!!

Possibly.

Depends more on the tip on the positive side of the battery. Some are flat and don't work at all. Others have a protruding tip and will work, though with the protection circuit the end cap may not screw in all the way.

Biggest thing is for VV they usually come with, or recommend, AW IMR batteries. Those don't have as high a mAh rating but can handle higher amperage draws without any problems.

I have used protected cell 18650's in my Provari without any problems but then I'm not using the boost circuit to drive it at the higher voltage's and amperage's either. Most of the time I'm only on 3.8-4.0v and nowhere near the 5-6v area.

If it comes with an IMR then the continuous current capability will more than likely be higher than the 2600maH. The battery itself though should work no problem (not sure on the flat top though).

For a descent explanation see this link (Section - Why does the ProVari need to use high drain batteries (the full technical answer))

Lavatube works on the same principle

Know that AW does make a higher capacity IMR battery (2000 mAh). The reason higher voltage mods use IMR's is that they're 'safer' battery chemistry. They can also handle the higher amperage that comes when using higher voltages. (boost circuitry that increases the voltage above the battery voltage.)

Non IMR's can either come with protection circuits or not. The ones with protection are safer in that if current draw is too high they trip out. But that protection adds length to the battery and I've heard the end caps don't screw down all the way on the LT. (So others have tried this and they do work, kinda.)

The odds are really low that the battery will explode if used in a LT. Either it will work, the circuit protection on the battery will cut off or the LT itself will just drop voltage to something lower.
