David will you be making more kick rings for the simplicity 26650? I fell in love with a kick on a 26500 battery. Last all day long. Or were you going to make the dna add on? Just my input, I have never found myself needing over 10 watts of power, so a kick ring would be suffice. Though I know there are several that may go crazy over a dna add on.

I use to think that 10 watts was a perfect vape. Now after using a DNA30 it more like 12-13 watts as my sweet spot...

You know, I still can't even handle 10 watts for very long. I cough and hack and wheeze. Highest I can handle is about 9.2, 9.3. I vape all day though, so maybe that is the difference? High end of 8 watts is sweet for me.

I use 100% VG Unflavored so its smoother then PG or PG/VG based juices...Plus @ 24-30mg it has plenty of TH... Its all about how you inhale... I take a hit and let it hit the back of my throat first, then pull it into my lungs.....
P.S. Long time no see Freckle? :)

Very long time no see, lol. I have been trying to stay away, I come around I spend money. These new proposals have me back hoarding again. Ugh!

Funny you mention the vg/pg ratio. I was vaping 100% vg, then I was wondering if that was what was making me wheeze more, so I started mixing in about 10% pg in the mix. I don't think it mattered much to be honest, but since I got the pg, may as well use it. You know one thing is for sure, I notice that if I also vape to low of a wattage I start to cough also. That sounds weird doesn't it? I think I may be just weird, to high I cough, to low I cough.

Safety wise, doesn't appear to be an issue as we are not looking at any different volatages, etc. The charger itself has protection that would keep it from overheating. I charge at the lowest setting, as it is technically off label use - however - it appears that the only reason that the VP1 isn't a 26650 charger is so that they can sell OTHER chargers for 26650 batteries.
Would I slap a 26650 in it at 1.0A charge and leave the house or go to sleep - nope - but I don't do that with ANY battery.
With the 26650, I run it at .5A and there is no indication of any problem at all. Electrically - there isn't any reason at all that it shouldn't work perfectly.
Looking at websites - looks like a lot of folks are using chargers for things that they aren't supposed to charge. No references found for the VP1 - but these sites are showing all sorts of chargers being used for 26650 even though they are not supported and..don't fit right. Basically - as long as only 1 positive contact and 1 negative contact can touch the battery - it should be just fine.

From a battery only standpoint - the only difference between 18650 and 26650 are size and capacity - the voltage and technology are the same - and they use the exact same charging algorithm.

A also have an Xtar wp6 charger - and they are commonly used for 26650.

With all that said - guess it comes down to "how do you feel about it" - I'm comfortable as I don't let my batteries charge when I'm not around and I don't feel that it is any more dangerous at all than charging an 18650 - they are, to the charger, the same thing. The charger monitors the battery regardless of what size it is. Only thing is - it can take a long time to charge a 26650 because I don't push it higher (not because of safety, I just like to slow charge batteries).

Xtar would be happy to sell you another charger that is labelled for 26650 - is it necessary....I don't think so. I will follow up if anything explodes or catches on fire:p

But, should we? I don't know? The instructions say 18XXX's. Is it safe?

Ordered 26650 on 30 April 2014, just wondering, from those of you with experience, when I can expect the item to ship.

I think we have on the site 3-4 business days. Now that we don't have any pending preorders, we come pretty close to that, sometime 5-6 but yeah, not like the old days as we don't have a backlog!
