I don't think they did. For the most part, they were actually mercenaries... a Have Gun, Will Travel in a metal suit but Count will be along soon I am sure and shed light on all this...

and just so ya know... LOL it really doesn't matter since a good juice is a good juice no matter what the name and I am feeling a bit ornery this morning

I would too but think they took more of a monastic oath of poverty... which most didn't keep and that is why many were killed or burnt at the stake...was all political
