ok im having some trouble getting my head around what to use
I am going to pick up some .32kanthal tomorrow,
today i did my first build,
a 7 wind build at 2mm with tight spacing using .28and it was coming up as 1ohm, was very even heating but slow to heat,
the wire I have seems comparable to kanthal D in the way it's working,
will going to kanthal A 32 make much difference?

Yes it will heat faster and take less wraps to make a similar ohm build in 28 gauge. 32 gauge will also be very springy, harder to work with and easily deformed if played with.

What are you making a coil for and what device are you using to fire it?

For me 30 gauge works great for higher ohm builds like Kanger coils and Kayfuns. I like 28 or 26 gauge for rda's and certain RTA's that can handle lower ohm's like the Lemo. If you have an Android device download "Vaper's Toolbox" from google play. It's free and takes the guess work out of coil building (plus it was made by a member here: ScottP)

I'm stuck with 32ga myself, also using a KF Lite and an MVP. It doesn't really cut it for me. Coils are too small and heat too fast. I did my first coil with twisted wire today, got 8 wraps on a 5/64" bit at 1.4 ohms. Now its slow to heat up but at least the vape isn't as harsh now and the flavors coming through. Probably still going to move to 30 or 29 though, I'll keep the 32 in my Kanger box for the Protank. Wrapping the twisted coil was kinda tough by hand that gauge is springy even when twisted together heh.
