Ultrafire 3.7 3000mah Li-Ion Battery dead after touching it with LED wire for a light?
Yes, thats right... I said it. I wanted to see if my red LED was working before I finished up my box mod, and all I did was take the 2 wires and touch the positive wire to the positive tab on the battery, and negative to negative...the light came on and I was happy (light working, great)...so I go to use my battery and I get nothing...i switch it on and off, still nothing. I use another battery and it's working fine ...so it's battery related. Now I KNOW the battery was working 2 seconds before I touched an LED to it because I was using it, there is no question about that, but how could the battery die after putting an LED to it ?
Also, i should add...I put the LED to it and it lit fine, then I manually fastened/wired the light to a switch, positive and negative, and then touched the battery ends with the LED and switch (i wanted to make sure the switch would shut off the LED). That was working also, I would flip the switch and LED went off, and i would FLIP the switch and LED would go on..all of the sudden the negative end of the battery got very hot, not hot to touch, but hot enough to know something is weird since all i did was touch an LED that basically uses no voltage and draws .0002 amps. Now that battery is dead?
Come ON!!! What the hell is that about?
I've never seen this in my life?!!
Does anyone have any idea what the hell went wrong? was it timing, coincidence? Am i not supposed to touch the LED wire to the battery? IF it was in a box mod, the LED would be touching the spring, which would be touching the battery anyway...so whats the difference?
Ive seen people solder wire right to the battery...so i'm just at a loss, and obviously, my battery is at a loss too.
