Just wondering for those of you who have 1 3.7 mod are you gonna get a 5+ mod? and for those of you who have both would you recommend getting one or would a 3.7 suffice?

I am trying to pick a mod that will last me a loooong time so im looking at xhaler/gg slim (maybe ggts if i can get one when they arrive) or protege

thats 2 3.7 mods and 2 5+ mods....

its a necessity for the mod i pick to be as slim as possible and pretty(as i think these are) and on ei can live with for a long time(as they arent cheap!)...i dont wanna get it and then want another(if its too big want a smaller 3.7 or if its 3.7 want a 5+)

any advice appreciated especially if u have one or more of these mods...

Using two 3.7v mods (The VP Spade & The BB), they rock.

If you want "sleek/slim/pretty/sexy" you need to be looking at the "VP Spade"...2-3 batteries will last you the day (depending on how much you vape) and it's a beautiful piece of kit.

The 3.7v "BB" is not quite as sleek, but it has clean lines and looks real smart/classy...the 14500 cell will last most of the day as well, you'd only need to carry one spare battery.

As for 5v, I recieved my "VPPT" on new years eve...it's brutal! :D

.

A standard USB Passthru with a 3.7V (usually 10440) in-line battery gives the same vaping experience as a 3.7V mod--actually it would be more consistent since it is constantly being recharged. If that is enough to satisfy you, then it would make sense to consider a smaller mod based on aesthetics, button placement, etc.

For me, however, once I tried HV vaping, I kinda can't go back. Some people do say they prefer the flavor at standard voltage, but that's a preference thing and I wonder if it's because they're vaping at too high a voltage and getting a burnt/metallic flavor. For me, the most important aspect I think is the vapor production--which is why I prefer the 510 atomizer over the others I've tried. For me, the 901 is "close enough" in vapor production, and the 801 is starting to grow on me, but I've gotten the most vapor from the 510 at 5V and anything less is like lite beer: It can satisfy, but it just seems like a weak substitute for the real thing.

EDIT: Should also note that the Xhaler also does 3.7V and the current version fits the 17670 battery with 1800mAH which should keep you vaping for several days between recharges.

hi deschain

i kinda discounted the spade...think u recommended it to me b4...checked it out on dietsmokes but its all black and looks quite looong...liked the look of protege more and its a bit more expensive but silver and cool looking...i dont mind the money part(as its nearly my bday!) so i want something spectacular....

all the ones ive picked are silver which is my fav look of the mods out there...

thanks for the advice...

Hi Thulium,

you are my guru...youve given me an absolute wealth of knowledge in the last day!!!

I am not super interested in a passthrough as although i am on internet alot right now i usuallyy am not near a computer/wall charger.i want a mod i can transport easily with better battery time(although im not a super heavy vaper so one battery would see me through a day i recokn)...

i know you love the xhaler and im inclined to agree with you but for size reasons im widening my searching as a 3.7 may be all i need???

I've been using a 3.7v mod for quite a while now, and I am awaiting the delivery of my new Prodigy v2. I ordered a 5v mod because I believe it will improve the performance of my KR808D-1 cartomizers. Between my Chuck and Little Chuck, I can vape at 3.7v, 6v, and 7.4v, so the new Prodigy will allow me to vape at 5v, as well.

I'd also like to see what 5v does for my 510 atomizers.

Let me say up front, I don't own one, but I think the GG line has some beautiful PV's. I don't know what volt the Slim runs at, but I love the looks of it.

I am starting to prefer the 3.7V myself, the higher ones are too much and make me cough. I tried one because most folks love them, but I think I will stick to 3.7V with the cartomizers.

Big clouds of vapor aren't important to me and I like a mild throat hit. YMMV.

Hey Just-Cass.... if size is important then you would probably be very happy with the Protege. I have 3 of them and they work great. They are perfect to take out in public. :)

I do enjoy 5v more and it is definitely my sweet spot. You may be interested in the V2 of the Prodigy - it will be smaller than the V1 and it is a 5v device. I have 2 of those on order now. Can't wait. :):)

I also have the Xhaler and enjoy that a lot too. It is bigger though so you may not be as happy. As you know it can do different voltages so that is very cool too. :D

Deschain, will check out ivapor

angus...im interested in how you compare your lil chuck with your big chuck....dya think having a lil chuck is enough or is the big chuck a necessity once uve tried it???

elendil i discounted the chuck on size issues as altho it would be sweeeet to have my own custom design the xhaler is smaller(?) and the protege is pretty as is in silver compared to a lil chuck....

also am i right in thinking the chuck doesnt support all atomisers???and im a bit clueless as to extra cost involved in batteries for it?does it work out more expensive than a protege(im in ireland so a chuck costs 100 dollars shipped...protege kit with batteries is about the same i think...

Yeah, I only mentioned the passthru because you can get one VERY affordably, and it is a handy way to get around the battery issues.

i know you love the xhaler and im inclined to agree with you but for size reasons im widening my searching as a 3.7 may be all i need???

I do understand. It was an easier decision for me because I was planning on trying other mods in the future, so I looked at the Xhaler as my "trainer" mod figuring that once I knew exactly which combination of voltage & atty I liked best I'd be better prepared to make a decision on my next purchase. I was also not sure exactly how I'd want to customize a Chuck, and I didn't like needing to wait a month or more to receive something I wasn't even sure I would like.

I think I will stick to 3.7V with the cartomizers.

That brings up a good point to consider: Which atty/carto do you want?

I haven't been able to try a cartomizer yet--but I should be able to as soon as the adapter arrives today--but as it was explained to me, they use a single wire heating element as opposed to the wire mesh bridges on the others. For that reason, I am told, they actually work better in the 4V range than 5V/6V.

When Drew was talking me down from my panic attack thinking I broke my Xhaler before New Year's Eve, he recommended keeping a pre-filled carto on hand to put use when the batteries fall into the 4V range.

I'm not sure if you're making it easier or harder to decide!!!im leaning towards smaller 3.7 now for the reason of size and the fact that alot of people are happy with it(mhr not included...but you do seem like the type to live on the edge...haha!!!)

I want one that once i buy is cheap enought to run(high voltage and fancy liquids are very expensive to order in ireland because of shipping...)

if anyone is thinking of selling a mod that ive mentioned please pm me as ive no problem getting a used one if its in good health!!!

the indulgence seems not too expensive for a pretty 3.7(with option of 6v in future...anyone got an opinion on these before i narrow my options?)

i want to use cartomizers at some stage so i think 3.7 is winning in my list of mods to choose from...thulium id love to know how you get on with cartomizers...

deschain you do know how to confuse people????well me anway...wish there were some irish vapers willing to meet up so i could try a HV...

I reckon at this point though im in this for the long haul...so starting with a 3.7 seems sensible for now...i can use it out and about and not get "that look" and at home and be happy...its easy to maintain(not havta drip so often) and i wont wreck as many atomisers in the learning process....

I am currently vaping at 3.7 V but think an HV will serve me well.. Waiting on the Pure Smoker V2 since it looks slimmer and more asthetic to me. 3.7 does not give me enough throat hit IMHO (but it will do). I will be ordering the PS USB PT soon as long as my kid doesn't catch me. As far as the V2 is concerned, just waiting on the first batch to hit the streets, never been good at BETA testing. I understand that PS is very customer-friendly when it comes to addressing issues so that is not my problem, I am just very post office lazy!
