Yeah its nice having a 900 mah battery that lasts all day... but if I could do it all over I'd just buy a few 380mah KR808 batts and a 510 adapter.

Compared to something like a Protege its smaller, looks more like a cig, and oh yeah about 70 bucks cheaper.

I screwed my 901 onto a KR808 auto batt last night and was suprised how well it worked.

I don't know why people bother with the Tornado or eGo or whatever. The KR808 is 3.7 volts [4.2 volts on a full charge] and has vapor production out the wazoo and a hell of a throat hit.

I was using my 808s with a 901 atty for a while but they were so leaky that I bought a 510 adapter and started using 510 attys on them . It did work great but with the XL batts it was really LOOOOONG ... I had two people asking me if I was smoking my pen??!

Yeah I used to do that too... People laughed when they saw me pull it out lol...

I guess 3.7 mods are great if your only concern is battery life... but I find myself taking 10 second drags off my Protege just to get a good hit... Maybe I should try LR attys... I've kinda put that idea on the backburner though because I hear they burn out quickly and they're rough on batteries too.

Well, I have to agree on the 3.7V mods, but for a different reason. I believe vaping at 3.7V is a waste of time. Since I started vaping at 6V, 3.7V seems really cold and lame. With 6V on a 510 I get really warm vapor with awesome flavor and clouds! The Throat Hit is more pronounced also. As for a 3.7V Mod, I would just get an EGO battery from Tasty Vapor for $15.00 if I wanted that. But now that I am vaping 6V, it is hard to go back!!

I have a Protege also Brandon and Im using LR atties on it and dont need a 10 second drag thats for sure. Are you using just regular atties it really does make a huge difference with the LR's and the size of it is quite small to me as well with great battery life. Just my :2c:

Well I love my Chuck with a 3000mAh 18650 battery. Another nice thing about mods is that you can buy new batteries for them for just a few bucks compared to $10-15 for a proprietary battery.
You might want to check out the LR atties from Eastmall. I've been using the same one for almost 2 months now and it still works like a champ. They're only $3 a piece too!

Im a MOD LOVER! Long lasting batts are EVERYTHING to me. :)

I used to have 10-15 batts and a pcc and so on but even the PCC couldnt charge em fast enough so I was left stranded so much that when I got my first mod I felt like I was in heaven!

I also vape mostly at HV, but also love 3.7v from a 18650 battery. MUCH stronger hit for longer. The prop batts seem like the first hit is awesome, then gradually drops off from there. With the 18650 batt, it vapes at 4.2v until it almost dies 3 days later. I take my mod and some juice and keep spare atty in the car. MUCH simpler than 10 batts a pcc and liquid to carry around. ;)

I happen to like my 3.7v but that is the joy of the human condition...what works for me...may not work for you...its all relative...and ive tried 6v and thought it was too much...5v is good but only sometimes...i think 4-4.5 would be perfect for all day every day...but 6 would be way to much...FOR ME :) nothing is useless unless noone...and i mean NO ONE uses it...but 3.7v mods are not one of them..many people use them and love them...myself included...HO

Awww c'mon, doncha know that all the cool kids are at 6v? Don't you wanna be a cool kid? huh? :)

Seriously, I'm with you - different strokes for different folks and all - 3.7v scratches the itch perfectly for me - YMMV

I think it all boils down to the best overall combination of atty/carto to battery. I have tried various combinations of 3.7 and 5v ( both twin 14500 battery box mods) with reg. and cool 808 cartos, 901 reg and HV atties, and various resistance 510s. Right now I have discovered my first Tasty Vapors cheapo 510 atty works great with my 5v. Probably the best combo i have tried to date !!! But i have my chrome 280mah 808 batteries with cartos for that 'elegant" look when dressing up and going out. As long as I'm feeling good and happy with the set-up....who cares???

The shipping has gotten pretty fast from them not bad at all. I think you will be very happy with the LR atties they pack a punch for sure. Ever since I switched to them I cant go back to a regular atty at all unless its on a 5v device.
Yeah I usually use Joye 510s on it.

Sounds like LR attys are my answer.

I've heard good things about the Eastmall LRs too... 3 bucks a pop aint bad... How fast is shipping though? I hate waiting 3 weeks for my stuff to arrive

It all depends on how often you vape. Im a heavy vaper so an ego lasts me half a day, sometimes longer but a 3.7v mod that uses the 18650 battery lasts three days. they cost $5 and after around a year when they need replaced, its just another $5 to replace it, not $10-$15 every few months on stock batts. The Ego actually is a "mod", just without a removable battery.

For looks, cost and vapor production, for ME, mods are the cats meow.

The BIGGEST advantage for me as well, is having that full powered charge all day. Stock batts lose charge from the first puff, whereas a bigger capacity batt (more mAH) will hold that 4.2v longer, thus giving that "fresh off the charger vape" all day long and only drops to 3.7v when its about to die. Stock batts are vaping well below 4.2v a few puffs into it and continues to dramatically drop off until dead a few hours later.

If 3.7v works for you, great! But for me, I just need that "extra" oomph! ;)
Dont get me wrong, I still enjoy 3.7v, but only from a battery with 900mah or higher....

Also, the "ego" is fairly new. A year ago, we only had stock batts with 180 maH and the SD mod which was also 3.7v, only with 1000maH. Longer batt life was what everyone wanted, so more and more mods hit the market from there on. :)

Ditto. I started with a basic 510 kit and moved to an eGo. I enjoy it, get what I need with minimum hassle and see no need throw money at something else. Everyone's different. Having choices is a great thing.

The difference in the regular 3.7v like a 510 and a 3.7v mod is that a regular 3.7v is really only like 3.2v where a fully charged 3.7v mod is 4.2v. Makes a big difference in the vaping experience and the total watts produced. Volts arent what we are really looking for watts are. A regular 510 at 3.2v is like 4watts and a LR attie on a fresh charged bat at 4.2v is like 9 watts so the vapor production warmth and flavor are really enhanced. I may be off a little on the wattage but its close.
So isn't most of the 'Stock' batteries (510,eGo,801,901 etc) 3.7 v ? So why 3.7 volt mods ? Just for longer battery life ? I can get 10-12 hours on a stock ego battery and now they have a 1000mah one.
