3 days for old guy !!!

Hi Everyone !!

I've been smoking for over 45 years and most of that time it's been 2 packs a day. I had heard about e-cigs and read about them for quite a while but had been very skepticle about them. I thought it was the newest scam on the market.

Then I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in quite a while and he was using e-cigs, and said they had saved his life!! He smoked as much as I and was able to quit real smokes after 4 months. That was enough for me to give them a try, although I was still extremely skeptical.

I ordered some 3 weeks ago and received them in 3 days. When I put my 1st one together and gave it a try I was very surprised at how much it tasted like my usual brand, Winston full flavor. So I deceided to give them an honest try. After 1st week I was down to 5 real cigs a day, after 2nd week I was down to 3 real cigs a day. I am 3 days into my 3rd week and haven,t had a real cig yet!! I'm really hoping this will stick. I've tried everyway there is to quit cigarettes and this just might be the one.

This forum has been a great help by hearing about all the successes there are out there. Thanks for sharing your insights. You are a great help !!

Congratulations! Sounds like you are on the right road. I usually vape about 12-16 mg but keep some 24 mg around for those really tough times. Hang in there they really do work.

I too thought it was some trendy, nouveau gimmick. Not.
The failure rate of gum, patches, pills is huge. vaping is the way to go.
I'm almost as addicted to the forum as I am to vaping!

You are about to find out the really interesting part, Im only a couple of week ahead of you on quitting.... and I still have absolutely no desire whatsoever for a cigarette.

I would much rather have a vape, that really surprised me, I thought week 2 would be harder than week 1, it wasn’t, and by week 3 I am not even thinking about a cigarette.

It is truly amazing

Nice work.. Keep it up and if you start to lose interest order some new hardware or try or some new juices.. Even if you slipped and had an analog as long as you have the vape to fall back on you're much less likely to go buy a pack.. Good luck!

Congratulations !! There is a learning curve to vaping and it is more work and time consuming than smoking but it is ALL so worth the effort !!!

Isn't it amazing? It works so well it's almost a miracle I read on here that the success rate is about 90%. Compare that to the 10% rate with patches and gums! Just ask us any questions you have about your Ecig and juices.

For me, it was about replacing the usual habit I had with vaping. During one bad craving, I took my PV to the garage and used it instead of an analog. Worked like a charm. That's when I figured out it was more about the habit than the need for an analog. Now after a month (longer than I have ever gone before), it is a challenge for me to keep going, even though I am well past missing the analogs.

Congratulations! There was a poll done on this forum and it was no surprise to learn that most of us didn't actually think it would work! But we tried it anyway (tried every thing else, why not give it a shot, right?) and IT REALLY WORKS! I'm as shocked as you -- but happy and smoke free for almost a year

At this point I don't even care if it's all in my mind, all I know is I'm not smoking

i can agree with others that these stories are amazing and it never gets old... the fact that a person can be hooked on cigarettes for 40+ years, try and quit every way possible with no avail, and then pick up a PV and never go back is incredible!
