So far this has been great (vaping experience). Last two/days have not had a cig the ejuice is just to good and smells so good.

Absolutely love unicorn milk it's like {Other stuff} lol. Strange thing tho is I started with 12mg nic and it just don't quite feed my urge. By the time I hit lunch break I'm usually crabby and freaking out lol. So I put in a order for 18mg nic.

Just curious if anyone else has this experience? I used to smoke Newport nonmenthol lights a pack a day and I though 12mg would satisfy it. Guess my smokes were more powerful then I though. Heh

Anyway BIG thank you to this forum for advise and help.
Prior to not smoking for 3 days my first day with vape i only smoked 3 cigs. I have already noticed a slight difference first morning not waking up barely being able to breath. I imagine it will only get better from here :)

Congratulations and stick with it! Everybody is different when it comes to how much nicotine they need in their juice to avoid smoking again. They all use different equipment and have different vaping styles. Long pulls or short pulls, mouth-to-lung or straight lung hits, wattage, etc., all affect how much nicotine you actually take in from the juice.

Don't be discouraged if it takes you some time to find out what works for you and don't beat yourself up if you "slip" once in a while. You know the old saying " a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". You've taken that first step so be strong and don't look back.

Welcome to the forum and hang in there!

That whole nic level thingy can take a while to sort out. I was a heavy long term 3 pad smoker and I started at 24mg. After a couple of months I started getting symptoms of too much nic (anxiety, sleeplessness, running around like a headless chicken). That's when I started to drop my nic levels. For a couple of years I had to strike a balance between too much and too little (i.e. cravings). Now, after 2 1/2 years, I'm mostly vaping 6mg but it still depends on what device I'm using. Also, I found that, in the beginning I was effected more by caffeine and sugar...so I had to balance those as well.

I would always recommend that you have some high nic and some 0 nic on hand so that you can mix what's right for you.

Good Luck and stick with it. I'm on Day 11 smoke free and am using 12 mg juice. I had some pretty strong urges to get more nicotine the first several days, but my body seems to have adjusted in the last week and the urges are gone.

Once I burn through the liquid I have on hand, my next order will be to drop to 6 mg liquid and see what my urges do. I would ultimately like to get to 0 mg nicotine and just enjoy the liquid flavors.

I was very skeptical for a long time, but made the switch "cold-turkey" 11-days ago... Now I seriously wish I would have made the switch to vaping a long time ago!

When I started vaping, I started at 24 mg to kick my pack a day habit. It worked well, although as soon as I moved up to higher end gear I had to drop my nicotine levels pretty quick. Just three months in, I'm down to 6 mg juice. I do use a bit more juice (about 4 ml versus 3 ml) but I have no cravings for analogs at all. I have tried 3 mg and quickly found that for me right now, it is too low. It felt no different than vaping the 0 mg samples they have at the vape stores.

Just don't be too eager to lower your nic too quickly. Nicotine is not really the enemy. Get used to being a non smoker first. Give it time. I 've been smoke free almost a year after a 2+ pack a day habit. Started on 18mg nic and I'm still using mostly 12mg. Use 3mg closer to bed time. I don't see a pressing need to give up the nicotine too fast.

I think a lot of it has to do with the rig you're using. Smoked menthols for about 15 years - smoked normal cigs for about 15 years... about a pack or more a day - somewhere between 30-40 cigs...

I tried the cigalike things - like the Luci (pointless device), I've tried the eGo cigs - lasted about a day - tried a few of the disposables - nothing.... most failed. Finally I just had to give the damn things up. As a lot of devices out there for the beginners are just junk (to a real smoker anyway)... I did some research and found this thing called Provari (supposed to maintain voltage/wattage throughout the lifecycle of a battery) - and I needed something that replicated a cigarette to a tee... but I didn't want to spend $500 for a setup. $300 for the battery thing - another $100 for a decent tank setup... coils, eLiquid, chargers - you name it...

I found Aspire's range and decided to give it a try (actually bought 2 different models)... I got the Atlantis + subOhm battery - but it's a little strong for me right now... and I got the CF VV battery and the Nautilus Tank (the 5ml one, not the mini 2ml thing).

I think it worked more so because of the airflow control - more than any other reason. This allows me to control how much vapor I could get, and how hard I dragged/drew on the thing. And - it worked out that the throat hit, vapor amount, heat, everything - replicated pretty damn close to a cig. If not almost identical.

I've tried the patch, I've tried the gum, I tried Chantix, nothing - every single method was a huge failure... but with the above config - I didn't actually even crave for a cigarette. Which for someone who smoked a pack or more a day - for 30 years of his life - was actually somewhat amazing. You need to get what works for you - but you have to have something that loses that "I STILL WANT A CIG" craving thing to overcome the cigs.

As far as Juice... I've gotten addicted to the Strawberry-Menthol stuff from Liberty Flights works pretty good for me - still looking around for other good flavors.

Good luck! - and welcome to the Vaping world :)

Sweet!! Way to go! The third day's the worst when you quit cold-turkey--I have no idea if it'd be the same when vaping instead. Seriously, nice work! Not sure about the nic content question, but, regardless of the strength of the cigs you smoked, my guess would be it has something to do with how many you smoked vs. how often/much you're vaping now.
Good luck!
