I just ordered a 3ohm dct on my ego twist is this an okay maps or am I going to kill my battery and can I get a single coil cart for this tank it is a 45 millimeter caRt am I wrong in thinking high resistance would be okay

That 3 ohm carto is just fine. A 3 ohm cart is actually what is recommended for variable voltage batteries such as the Twist, as it can provide you with the opportunity to find your "sweet spot" whether it happens to be in the lower voltage range, middle, or higher range. It's that versatile. It's exactly what I have on my Provari. I vape my more fragile fruit flavors in the lower voltage range (3.4-3.7v) for best flavor w/o burning it. My coffee flavors vape best at a higher voltage (4.2-4.8v).
A lower resistance carto would put additional strain on your strain on your battery, especially if you use dual coil cartos. It would also provide a warmer vape, possibly even a harsh one. A standard resistance carto is kind of in between the two, and also would work well on a Twist.
You can use dual or single coil cartos in your dct tank. (I assume you are asking about the tank as that is what dct stands for)
I prefer to use single coils in my cartotanks. I've found no appreciable difference in the amount of vapor production or in taste of my eliquid, but the single coils are much kinder to my batteries.
I order my cartos at the following link. You can get either single or dual coils. There is a variety of resistances that you can choose from. There is also a variety of laser-drilled holes already in the cartos, so they are tank-ready to use. I like the idea of not having to punch my own cartos as that takes that much of human error out of the mix and provides me with a standard of consistancy that would not be there if I tried to punch my own. $2 for the single coils is a great deal. $2.50 for the duals.

I disagree that a 3 ohm coil is optimum. I Think it's the worst choice in the 2-3 ohm range.
Maximum power on a twist occurs at 1.92 ohms and 4.8V.About 12 watts.
(R=4.8V/2.5 amp current limit of eGo= 1.92 ohms.)
If you want less power, you just reduce the voltage. Power at 3.3 volts would be down by (3.3/4.8)^2=.47, or about 53%.About 5.7 watts. There is plenty of room to cut down on power.
But if you use 3 ohms, the MOST power you can get is down by 1.92/3 = .64 or about 36% from using 1.92 ohms. Only about 7.7 watts MAXIMUM. (4.8*4.8/3=7.68)
Since nobody makes 1.92 ohm atomizers I use 1.8 ohms, which is almost as good.

so confusing...single, dual...wow. i like cartomizer tanks, but i have yet to understand the difference between them. the above explanations add even more confusion, as they are both contradictory to one another. i use a twist, and i'm dying to figure all of this out. i don't want to start a battle here, but i would really like to know what kind of cartos would work best with the twist? if juice is a factor, i usually vape the tobacco flavors, mostly from backwoods brew. i'm losing track of the resistance levels that i'm trying out...help?
Actually, it just boils down to what works best for you. Since you do not have experience with these yet, my recommendation would be to get at least one cartomizer in a low resistance, one in a standard resistance, and one in a high resistance. Try all three with your favorite flavor, and decide for yourself which one that you prefer. It's really the only way to know for sure.
With a cartomizer with lower resistance (less than 2.0 ohm), you will get more vapor and a warmer vapor. It also may be too warm or harsh for you, should you find out that you prefer a cooler vape. I happen to prefer a cooler vape, myself. I've tried the lower resistance cartomizers and dual coil cartomizers, and to me they produced a harsher vaping experience that I didn't particularly enjoy. Many of my flavors tasted burnt. Your results may vary from this. There are many vapors who prefer a warmer or even hotter vaping experience to more reproduce the experience of smoking an analog. That's just not for me.
I have tried all the resistances, and both single and dual coils. I was able to figure out which ones that I preferred by actually trying them out for myself. I'm not sure that I would let anyone tell me what is best for me, because they don't know my preferences. Being inexperienced with any of these, neither do you. So do yourself a favor and try both dual coil and single coil, and all three resistances.
