From the beginning I liked vaping more than smoking! Yay! Yes, it will save me money in the long run but the initial investment is worth it to me because I enjoy it. I tried to get my mom to try it, but she's too stubborn to give it an honest attempt. "It tastes funny". So I bought her a camel cartridge. "A little bit better... I'll try it". 3 puffs later it just sat there... all day as her ashtray filled up. Blechhhhh. And she's 60.. smoked for 35+ years. It sucks.... SMOKING sucks.

It took me 2 years to figure out the right hardware and juice to do the job for ME, but I finally 'got it'. It's really hard for those of us who smoked more than 30+ years to really trust that ecigs can be so painlessly preferable to analogs...but when it all comes together, it's better than analogs in SO MANY WAYS!!!

I reckon YOU have to be the example of success, and continue to share the things YOU like about it with her. In time, you both might figure out what SHE needs to make the switch...or at least to vape more frequently.

CONGRATS 2 U on 3 weeks! Hang in there...it DOES get better and better!! :2cool:

I'm glad you've found some juice you like!

One of the biggest problems I had in the beginning was juice that tasted more like poison (or vomit). I NEVER got used to those terrible tastes, and they're just as bad today as they were two years ago. The difference for me is, I now KNOW they are bad...but they came highly recommended by newbies right here on ECF (that's why I purchased them...I was only a lurker in those days, too ).

Congrats! I started in mid-October and like you, I took to it immediately. I also got a friend started who was a 35+ year 2pad smoker. To my surprise, within 2 weeks she was an ex-smoker! I think everyone is differnt. Don't give up on your mom though. It just may stick one day.

It worked! My mom has been vaping fora week, smoke-free after smoking for FORTY years! ANd she LOVES it... she carries around her tanked unit with her everywhere:) I think this happening has also changed some of my family members attitudes towards vaping. My mom tried everything and I think she had given up and accepted that she'd smoke til the day she died. I asked her just to give it ONE day..... and that one day was all it took:) I'm filled with gratitude.... I know those cancer sticks would have taken her from me sooner than later. Her moods have improved, her energy levels are better.. she LOOKS better.... and that's just after a week!
