3 year anniversary...and i forgot until now...

It's amazing that for the specific day when I literally quit smoking - a day I shall always remember - I completely forgot about it until now.

I still vape, but I no longer am a slave to any smoking related addiction. Even at 6mg, I can go for days without vaping and have no problem what so ever!

I thank God everyday for vaping, and for the folks on ECF...without whom I would never have been successful.

That 1st year seemed to drag along very slowly, but the last 2 years have flown by. I suspect it took a full year to truly break the '32+ years' of addiction to combustibles. Ever since that first anniversary, it's been extremely easy for me. I hope it will be just as easy for the rest of ya!

Yes, I believe the quit rate for analogs is over 80% AFTER 2 years. Congrats.

I have been gaping for about 2 or maybe 3 months and when I saw this thread I realized that I did not mark the day when I stopped smoking. Haha. Now I have to backtrack and look for receipts and stuff to determine when I actually switched because it is an important day in my life. I guess since the transition from analogs to E cigs was so smooth I hardly felt it. Congratulations to you and to all of us who successfully quit the analogs!

Yes, it feels extremely good! I was one of those folks who had a TERRIBLE time making the switch. I actually started vaping in 2009, but due to yucky flavors and poor hardware (Joy 510 cigalike), I couldn't vape consistently. Then I upgraded to the {then} new 'Ego-T', and raised the nic level from 18mg to 24 mg. Also, I had to add in a bit of WTA for a few months, but as of September 25, 2011, I became a 100% vaper.

What really proved to myself that I was no longer a smoker, was when I was offered cigs at a neighborhood party...and I said, "No thank you."
WHOA!!! I couldn't believe I did that...but with the right equipment, good nic support level and decent hardware, I was GOOD!

I'm STILL good! Always plan to be even 'gooder'.

I'm SO impressed with the folks who are able to make the switch within a day or two...or even a few weeks. I struggled...but it was worth it.

I already posted it previously in another thread, but I used the savings (of vaping over smoking) as the down payment on a new {to me} van! Just today, somebody told me the interior of my van smells great! (It's because I vape mostly spearmint these days, and it DOES "smell great"...and so do I. )
