3 years on KRD808's, ready for something more durable...looking for product suggestions

Hi all! I have browsed through the forums and seen many recommendations, but there's a definite information overload, and I'm not sure what current recommendations would be, so I'm going to post my specifics and see if I can get some recommendations.

I've been vaping using 808's for the past 3 years. I recently switched from standard cartomizers to clearomizers and love being able to see my vapor levels. I have 1 great battery from V4L, I get the clearomizers from litecig--it's a decent combo. My problem is, the 808 batteries are very hit or miss, and don't produce a lot of vapor. The cheap 808 clearomizers are only good for about a week, and can't be disassembled for cleaning.

I'm thinking, from what I've seen, that I might be happy trying the Ego-C twist. Could someone tell me where to find:
1. A vendor with a decent warranty--at least 30 days, preferably 90. I'm not mean to batteries, but I'm tired of buying 10-15 a year.
2. Clearomizers that fit, are of a decent build, and last some time without tasting like plastic
3. A reasonable price--discountvapers has a starter kit with 2 batts/attys for $44, which tempts me--but it's out of stock and the warranty is 30 days (I've never bought from them, which makes me uneasy.
4. I love the V4L liquids, but their coupons have become more and more selective and I'm finding myself outpriced for the volume we use (2 heavy vapers in one house). Any suggestions on solid, low-cost vendors for liquids in at least 30ml (but preferably 50+) quantities?

Any help would be so very appreciated!!! Many thanks :)

Halo Triton.

The vGo thread will allow you to keep using your 808 gear, if you want, without an adapter. The Triton tank is a Kanger T2, holds 2.4 mL, and works great. Coils are replaceable, so your maintenance cost stays low.

If you want to extract more savings, you can always try to replace the wicks and coil element yourself, instead of buying new ones. Wick replacement is a bit of a chore, but coil element replacement is an expert exercise.

I recommend trying the tobacco sampler; They're unique sophisticated flavors, and the price is fair.

I don't know of any vendors that offer lengthy warranties on batteries, but I've never had issues with ego batteries. You are better or checking for deals on ego stuff than finding a longer warranty.

You should look into Kanger products. Personally, I enjoy the Protank, but a lot of people like the Evod. You can buy replaceable heads for them, so if they start to wane in terms of vapor production, you can swap them.

As far as clearos go, I'm loving my Vivi Nova. Holds 3ml+ (lines go to 2.8ml but you can fill farther) of juice, you can buy replacement heads, the draw isn't too airy or too tight, you can replace the tip, etc. It's been an overall great experience for me.

For juice, I have to agree with szot - Mt. Baker Vapors has awesome prices and a huge selection of juices. You may need to let them steep for a bit, but it's worth it for the price - you can also get it in large bottle quantities, so when you find a flavor you like, you can get a big bottle and vape it for days.

Kudos for using the 808s all that time. I started with 808s and after a week, knew I needed a bigger battery. I have learned that one stop shopping is not possible with vape supplies, in my case at least.

Kits are great, but they usually have a clearomizer that sucks.

Here is an Ego 1100mah battery for $8.99; he also sells a charger for $2.99
eGo-T 1100mah battery

I've tried several clearomizers, CE4, Viva Nova, Vision etc.; realized wicks are a hassle to deal with. I do like the Evod, but the bottom fill can be messy.

I ordered this surprising gem: $2.93 CE5+ Electronic Cigarettes Round Mouth Atomizer (1.6mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I have not experienced one burnt hit, smooth vaping and easy top fill.

I can't help in the juice department. I make my own; way cheaper and tastes better to me.

I think you would be pleased with the Innokin iTaste VV 3.0. I have three and it would be my first choice for anyone moving from cig-alikes, starting to vape or for anyone who wants something small with variable watts (VW). It's the smallest battery VW which is easier to use than the variable voltage (VV) on the Twists to adjust power. With VW you just adjust the vape to the warmth you like and the battery does all the math for you if you put on a different juice delivery device with different oHms. With the Twists you have to start low and adjust up or do the oHms math.

The iTaste VV 3.0 has pass-through capabilities that allows you to vape and charge simultaneously. It also has a screen readout for the oHms of your juice delivery device, remaining voltage of your battery, power level and puff counter. That will let you play with some more advanced gear down the road if you like or you can just easily ignore everything except the power level if that doesn't interest you.

You have to wait for shipping from Hong Kong but Fast Tech has excellent prices and a 6 month warranty. They have an address in Florida for RMAs so you don't have to worry about international shipping.

Fast Tech also has a Kanger Mini Protank is a great size for the iTaste VV 3.0. You can use it for juices that crack plastic tanks, juices that crack the plastic on clearomizers.

Here is a picture of one of my iTaste VV 3.0s with a mini Kanger Pro tank to give you an idea about size:

You might want to look at this list to get an idea of which are the popular juice vendors on ECF latest rankings of most popular juice venders from the Top 5 vendors (e-liquid) summary.

Halo Triton is definitely the way to go. Just bought one and the quality of it, the taste, and the vapor production blew me away! Only way to go if you're looking to stick with 808s. :)
