30 gauge kanthal to achieve 0.5 ohm?

I'm looking to make 0.5 ohm dual coil with 30 gauge kanthal.. I looked online and others say they can achieve ~0.65 ohm with 30g wire, wondering if its possible to sub to 0.5 with it, or how many wraps? thanks

8 Wraps around a 2.5mm thingy should get you to 0.5 ohms

I highly suggest you get the vape Tool App for mobile, it's really easy to use and you
can calculate coils with it.

its actually 3 wraps each 2.5mm inner diameter and you cant go much above 10 watts or your cotton is done. If you twist it first you can achieve it alot more simpler with more wraps and use it at a higher wattage.

thanks for the info guys, I've been wrapping on 1mm becahse its.the only thing I'm sure of diameter, but I'll look into twisting because I have 6 feet of this wire now and no idea what to do with it, I'm currently vaping 0.4 but my kbox nano I feel could vape best on 0.5 ohm

I'd take about 3feet of it and do this, Coil wrapping , should have enough twisted wire for 2 maybe 3 coils. So if you want to go to .5 you can just reduce 1 wrap of the next coil or if too hot add a wrap.

I twisted some of the 30G, did 7 wraps on both coils for 0.5, thanks vaping raccoon for suggesting twisting, works great!

I'm thinking of trying a Clapton, but I have 24g kanthal to work with, not sure how smoothly that'll go and sparce on wire, don't want to waste

Did you get the Vape Tool app?

You can enter the Clapton values (inner/outer diameter) in there and check for how many wraps
are needed for your target resistance.

24/24 is indeed pretty big and it's gonna be nearly impossible to reach 0.5..

yeah I messed with it but I messed it up lol, I ended up manually unwrapping the 30G, don't have any guitar wire or anything to wrap the claps on

I tried to drill the 30 around the 24 but that didn't go well, I'm still on the 0.5 twisted 30G coils, they're vaping great, and I remember reading something about ohm having effect on battery draw, not to mention the extra ramp up it calls for, so on the nano despite it can vape down to 0.3 I don't see the point, full 50 watts is just enough to vape on 0.4, currently 49 watts on the 0.5
