Yes. I did read there home page. It says it will fit. But what I can figure out is, do you still need the delrin drip tip then the shield over that? If so it kind of defeats the purpose. Just curious. I thought they would fit over the 306 to turn it into a 510 so you could use the 510 DT. Think Im going to put in an order thru DC. See if I like them before spending 12.99 on one.

You need an 510>510 adapter to raise the the height of the atty to get the air vents inside the orings in the shield. The best way to use the 306 this way is if you make the 510 drip tip mod for it.

I have to say, I fell in love with the drip shield. I have had very little use for paper towels since I started using it. It took me a little bit to break it in so it's not too tight to slide on and off.

Chelsea,

They have extra long delrin tips now for the 306's, so with the drip shield slipped on, about 3/8" to 1/2" still extends beyond the top of the shield. I get my long 306 drip tips here:Drip Tips Metal or Delrin Plastic

just use the dropdown to select "306 Delrin Long Straight"

If you get the Drip Shield from Empire, just make sure you get a "Bridged (510-901-901-510) Connector" also and you should be good to go.

This combo really work well. Zero leaks

I would second that Bert. I haven't tried the AV 306 to 510 but I have the extra long delrin 306 tip and the Drip Shield slides very snug over it. The 306 to 510 from AV looks like it flares at the top wider than a standard 306 dt. I don't think the AV would give the clearance to slide the Drip Shield over. I may be wrong....

Stupid question, but what does a drip shield do?

They were designed for 901 attys, which have a vent hole in the side near the coil and notoriously leak when dripping or bottom feeding. The drip shield is basically a metal tube that goes over the 901 atty and seals the bottom with an o-ring so that any juice that leaks from the vent hole is captured.

That's my understanding, anyway.

IDK, I don't use 901's. The only time I even have juice in my overflow is when I use 510's. When I use 306's the cup stays dry.

Yes. That's exactly what it does. Works good too. Any captured juice can then be sucked back up in to the atty. There are two o-rings actually. Top and bottom of the shield. Two small holes allow air flow.
