Disposable 306-b MINI Vaporizer

i purchased this with my own $.

initial thoughts

anywho, i was online shopping for a a new style, just to try something new. i have a 510, a royal smoke (no clue what model), and now i purchased this 306b. i figured for 9.95$ how bad could it be? the reviews on the 510 disposable were good, and were made by the same manufacturer.

i ordered that and some juices of various flavors. the order arrived in quickly, unharmed, and in tidy packaging. the seller was very quick to respond to my questions, and concerns, and i was comfortable making the purchase online.

taking the box out of the package, it was smaller than i anticipated, like a pack of marlboros, typical packaging style, but the size was dead on. upon opening it, i discovered a nicely sorted array of parts and carts. charger is almost identical to my royal smoke, minus the light, that the 306b does not have.

i have used this package for storing it, but wish i would have bought a case, as this unit is well made, especially given that its a disposable. since the parts are exchangeable, im thinking of ordering some batts and atts for the 306/510. maybe a pass through. i dont know where my 510 has gone to to test for interchangeability, but my memory seems to tell me it was a bit fatter. i'll check interchangability on this disposable unit and update when i have some time and extra $.

this unit is a tru mini, very slim and light weight. easily held with the lips. it has the 4 hole atty design, and the carts are constructed in an interesting way. they use a more hemisphereical juice chamber, enabling it to hold more juice. BONUS :)

everything about this unit tells me it should cost more. the only downside is that the battery would seem to be the failure point. it works fine, charges up nice, etc etc. but there is a warning on the website, telling you not to use this charger and battery combo with other batteries and chargers. seems like i would need to get a new charger and battery if i want it to stay...and i do. i did however measure the charger's voltage output and its almost identical to my royal smoke, so i'm not sure where the problem lies.

it's got a fairly firm drag to it, kinda reminds me of a djarum, but it takes more work, though not in a bad way. i believe this is related to the overall diameter of the unit it self. flavor production is pretty good, as is vapor production, which is compounded by the fact that it is a mini.

i would have liked a choice of led colors, but red is it for now. nothing wrong with that, and its a solid, bright led, so it's redeemed itself, for its lack of choice lol

the carts that come with the unit are labeled USA MIX which i understand is a dekang flavor, and i used to work next to a guy who smoked only chinese market analogs, and this flavor tastes similar to what he smoked. maybe call it *chinese interpretation of* USA MIX. good flavor though. im pretty nit picky on my tobacco flavors and this one can stay.

what is the best feature on this unit? well its an odd one. it's not one feature, it's the whole package. for under 10$ you can give these to non believes and let them try it out, even order them their juice of choice and still not hurt in the wallet. its a tru vaping experience. atomizer, charger, carts. the whole 9. if they even -kind- of like it, you can start them on the road to being smoke free, for less than a pizza. i'm going to be buying a few of the 510 disposables and see how i like those also, and if this is any indicator, i will.

i'll update with battery and atty life, but the battery has been a champ so far. so hopefully it will last longer than its throw away designation, as i have read the 510 disposables do...

UPDATE! so far it's doing well. i have a few things i do not like about it:

it is VERY slim. not a bad thing, but the atty design is such, that dripping, especially with straight VG must be done with care, or you'll run it down the side of the atty.

also the charger has no light, so i have to time 2 hours, before a full recharge, no issue with the time, just wish it had an indicator light, so i don't have to constantly check my watch.

the draw is a bit stiff, even with the 4 hole atty, most likely because of the narrow airways. seeing the unit in person would explain this better than i can.

but saying all of that, EXTREMELY satisfied with my purchase. i have heard that a few units have had faulty batteries, but only on the 510 disposables so far, but for 10$ buy 3 and have spare parts, lol. the flavor on this unit, i have noticed is good and not at all burnt, though the atty gets pretty warm, again, most likely due to the small size.

ahh that explains why it did indeed appear that the 510 stuff would not fit it, i was confused by this, as this model is tough to find info on. being as slim as it is, it's not hard to hold in the lips either. im going for the 510 style next go 'round, i like the way it vapes. i want a 401, but i'll order one after i try out the 510

Okay.. First, good review!

Second.. The charger that comes with the "disposables" can ONLY be used with the "disposable" batteries because the circuitry is inside the battery and not the charger. You CAN use a regular 510/306 charger to charge the disposable battery. Also, the LED on the battery either comes on, or goes off when the battery is fully charged. It's been a few months since I've used one so I don't remember which way the light works for charging.

Finally.. The 510 and 306 are fully interchangable. Either battery or atty will work with the other.

I haven't tried the 306b but I've had more than my share of the 510 disposables. The 510's are a higher resistance than a genuine Joye 510 so they run a bit cooler. They do however, work wonderfully and have helped to convert a few smokers I know.

These "disposables" are very well worth the 10 bux!

My next order form Litecig will include the 306b based on this review.

hey thanks! i did not know that about that battery/charger relationship. i'll keep that in mind. when i order the 510, im planning on grabbing some real manual batteries and a charger for them when the throw away battery goes south. i'm glad the 510 disposables run cooler, this might be a fun experiment in flavor differences. i actually have my 306b out on loan to a smoker. i hope they like it, and all, but i want it back, i dont want to add s'mores flavor to my royal smoke's atty. that unit is for vv vanilla only, lol

update! 11/2/10 - the 306 is a real trooper. i lent it to a friends gf, and she pretty well chainvaped on it for a few days, waiting for the pack of 510b's to arrive, in that time, she flooded the atty until it just stopped working, i took it home, blew out the atty, cleaned it off, and blew out the battery, and it seems like it's working again. i havnt been using it as i normally would since my 510 got here, so im handing this slim little unit over to my wife. she's been eye balling it since day one, lol. amazing little unit for 10$. still recommend it, though i favor the 510 since i dont need a mini sized unit, it makes me look a tad girly, lol.
