so you don't think braided wire would have capillary action? In my mind, I'm thinking it would? I'm wondering if you tipped it, juice would run through it, because its got many imperfections in the seal between the many wires that make up the whole braided wick... I've only been rebuilding a short time and the 1 SS mesh rebuildable I've got running now is so tight that it barely has any capillary action, I HAVE to tip it for it to work... And by tipping it, it soaks up juice and emits that juice through its porous surface, right? So, I'm wondering, if you made a braided wick with wire... maybe it wouldn't have the best of both worlds, but it might have better capillary action that SS mesh, or it may have better juice holding features than SS mesh, or it may work better when you tip it than SS mesh. who knows? I'd try it if I had a whole mess of wire. just saying. It might just depend on the thickness of the braid.. You could use oxidized SS wire or silver wire with no resistance to make this twisted wick, then wrap a coil around it. IDK.. I'll try it and let everyone know how it does, if and when I can.
