If you're getting a metalic taste try doing a burn on the resistance portion of the wire once you make it. When you twist your wires into NonRes-Res-NonRes take a lighter and run it's flame 2-3 times under the Res portion fairly quickly. You want to see the Res portion of the wire setup glow lightly as the flame passes over it. Be careful not to keep the flame over it too long or it will burn and brake

You can also burn the wick too to remove any unwanted residue from manufacturing. With the wick no need to be gentle, fire away with a gas torch. BEWARE burn it before you wrap your coil over it

Confused lots of wires .... Silver or nickel for no-res wire?
