my favorite thus far has been 29guage. To me at the higher ohms 29 takes too long to heat up as you have to make a bigger coil. BUt I also like 30 guage for doing dual coils. To me 28 guage is good for running sub ohm single coil builds. Then again I don't like to go any lower than .8 on a single coil build and .6 on a dual coil build.

yes lower the number means bigger wire. the bigger the wire the lower the resistance. The trade off is the bigger the wire the longer to heat up. for instance a 1.5 ohm coil using 28 will take longer to heat up then a 1.5 using 30. how ever if you are going to so say sub ohms the bigger wire is good for the fact that you don't have to use as much wire.

if you have 30 or 32g you can get some good micro style coils by say double twisting, tri twist, quad etc and so on to make it thicker, which lowers your Ω enabling you get more wraps then you would with a single strand

single strand 30g 1.5mmid or 1/16id @ 6wraps get about 1.2Ω dependant on your leg lengths, but you really need 7 and above wraps to benefit from a micro coil

4 strands of 32g twisted together @ 8wraps 1/16 or 1.5mm gives you 1Ω and should give you better flavour then its equivalent wire gauge which is probably 28g

im probably only gonna replace my 32g from now on :)
