Hello Fellow Vapers,

I was a 20 year / pack a day analog smoker and finally got sick of the smell, ash, butts and of course harmful chemicals. I got pulled in by an ad one day and told my wife we should FINALLY give it a try. This was the best choice we have made in a really long time. From the second I put my ecig to my mouth until this very moment I have not had a single analog (not even a single drag). The best part about this is we haven't even wanted one!!! It has been zero effort on our part switching and actually like vaping more!

I was one of those crazy Mega-Hooked smokers that everyone said would never be able to give it up. People would be talking with me or my wife about upcoming plans and someone would end up saying, but what about Kevin, he can't smoke there. It kind of sucked to be viewed that way but in part they were right to worry about it. I was not a very nice person if I couldn't smoke for long periods of time. So of course this made me think vaping would never work for me... BUT IT DID!

I am so happy to be analog free and part of this crazy awesome group we call VAPERS!

Good and Vapey,

Kevin

So, you and your wife both quit at the same time? Congrats!

Thank you. Yes, we quit the very same day. We both love it and enjoy it WAY more than anything we ever got out of analogs. We started with a mainstream company using an analog look alike (KR808-D2) but two weeks ago we graduated to a eGo Twist for her and a Vision Spinner for myself. It is amazing how awesome these things are. Just really loving our new vaping life.

Congratulations and welcome! It's great that both you and your wife were able to make the change together. (I'm still waiting for my husband to make the switch).

This is a great place to keep in touch with the larger community and what's going on with technology and the legal side, and a good source for help with troubleshooting and learning about new things.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and welcomes. We are here to stay for sure.

The funny thing is, about two weeks ago I walked by my first person smoking an analog (work from home so I don't get out much - lol) and couldn't wait to get away from it. All I kept saying to my wife is, That's What We Smelled Like. It's crazy to think just how harsh of a smell / taste I was use to dealing with each and every day.

Oh, and we are already looking into making plans to go to the next VaperCon (Richmond Va on November 1st and 2nd). Seeing all the heavy hitters I've been watching on YouTube instead of working will be really cool. Between Nick (GrimmGreen), Phil (PBusardo) and of course the VapeTeam I'm sure I will have an ear to ear smile on and spend way more than I should.

Wow that's fantastic! Congrats! I hope one day (soon) I will become a non-smoker too!

Gianna, if there's one thing I've learned in my short time being a vaper it's that everyone is different. If you want to make the switch 100% I'm sure you will when you are ready. It all depends on what your needs and feelings are about analogs.

For me I loved the act of smoking. I knew I was addicted but I also actually enjoyed being a smoker for the most part. Instead it was the ash, smell, tar, countless butts smelling up my deck and cost that I wasn't a fan of. Yes, it's sad that I didn't list the health part of it but for me (when I was a smoker) that really didn't factor into my equation for myself. It did however concern me for my wife.

This is why I couldn't just quit or stop everything all together. I wanted my nic-fixes and enjoyed the act of smoking. Vaping gave me everything I wanted and removed all of the things I hated. It even gave me some other stuff that I really like, such as Boz Berry Melon from eJuice Monkeys - lol

In your post you said that you "hope" to one day be a non-smoker... I believe in you and if that is what you really want you will get there. Just be ready for when you are free of analogs as it really is an amazing feeling.

Thanks Kev, I've only had my vaper for 3 days now so it's very new and different for me. I am playing around with the dosage and flavors right now. I need to find my perfect fit per say.. That's what i am workin on. :) I hate smoking, I hate smelling like an ash tray, its such a turn off. This is why I am trying to quit

The one negative I found when we first started was the fact it is different / harder to get into. When I smoked I could just go to any store in town, ask for my regular analogs, hand them a truck full of money and there you go... you're off and smoking.

With vaping there are so many choices, so many products and so much information out there that I found myself in state of analysis paralysis. I mean, I never needed to remember ohms law when I was smoking analogs - lol.

This is why I think the traditional eCig (KR808-D2) we went with worked so great for us. It looks, feels and acts like an analog. It even tasted really close to what we were smoking before. Our first order was at 1.8% nic since we smoked lights but I included a few 2.4% to make sure if it wasn't great I would at least get a big hit of nic. Well, the 2.4% was too much for us as shocking as that was. The 1.8% with a taste really close to our old analog brand made it work. We stayed with them while we found a better / more cost effective system to use. We went with the eGo Twist and Vision Spinner and loved it. Like I said in a previous post, the traditional eCig got us off the analog habit but the eGo style batteries made it fun.

We still use the traditional eCig we started with from time to time but really like the eGo Twist style way better. It is more powerful and allows you to control the level of vape which is really nice. There are just those times we are going out and don't want to carry the larger batteries with us so the eCig type battery works better in those situations for us.

Once you find your method and the flavors you love it will seem way easier to make the switch fully.

Best wishes on your journey into the Vaping Universe!
