Long time analog smoker, just discovered vaping right before Christmas '09. My wife and I were at a local bar seeing a friend's band play when I noticed a couple sitting close by both using e-cigs. We ended up talking to them at length, they own a Smoking Everywhere kiosk (yeah I know  ) at the local mall (Boynton Beach, FL).

To make a long story short, we bought 4 overpriced kits from them at somewhat of a good discount, kept 2 for ourselves and gave 2 out as Christmas gifts. My wife and I started using ours on 1/4/10 in hopes of giving up analogs altogether. While they have helped a LOT, the shortcomings of the Smoking Everywhere units still have us smoking a few analogs per day, more on the weekends when we're out and about at the local pubs.

After discovering this forum and spending several hours educating myself, I purchased a Joye 510 kit from cignot.com this morning and eagerly await it's arrival. I also look forward to trying my hand at some of the mods listed here. Nice to see such an innovative bunch! Ironically, I've gotten into "modding" with just about every hobby I've had - cars, motorcycles, guitars & amps (I play in a rock cover band on weekends), so my newly-discovered vaping hobby should prove no different! :D

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, give thanks to the fine folks at this forum for the wealth of info, and I look forward to eventually ditching the analogs altogether!

Thanks for the tip shorty. I have a feeling that once my 510 gets here, the SE's will be shelved as backups but I'll sure give it a try.

I have 2 small storage boxes full of spare equipment and DIY supplies, + a cabinet above the microwave dedicated. It only gets worse... heheee

I'll have to see if I have a full convert after yesterday at work. 11am he hadn't had an analogue.

WELCOME and CongratZ on a making the choice to get off those nasty things (yeah I can say it now that I have over 5 months free of those). The largest part is the cost savings, especially if you DYI.

I am about broken even, but I still have like a 2 year supply of liquid stuff.

dmtnt, welcome! And congrats on researching and making an excellent decision on the 510. Cignot has a huge following here. You done good! SE does not have a good rep here, and before I read that you bought kits from the couple in the bar, I was thinking "Hmmm...SE plants? Yep!" They will probably be fine for a while, not great, not aweful, but they tend to die fast and replacing is expensive. You will likely be much happier with the 510, and it will be cheaper to get parts for it and have a more stable and dependable system.

Careful with the DIY and modding! It is quite the fun and consuming hobby, and the 510 is a great PV to mod, both carts and batts. Indeed it is why, after reading a bunch here, I went for it myself, since I'm a chemist and electronics tinkerer, and I love making something better myself. And with the 510 being pretty damn good right out of the starting blocks, that choice was a no brainer for me. Now I have a tool box of parts, tools, DIY juices, lots of batts, lots of attys, various cart-modding materials, syringes, picker, pokers, prodders, chargers, the works. And I've still not spent what I would be spending on analogs. How cool is that?? :w00t:

I do sometimes miss the quite and convenient days of just putting that pack in the pocket, and making sure I had enough for the day. The 510 is fairly high maintenance, especially in the beginning. Now that I have the carts I like and juices made, the main issue is batt recharging. Be sure to get a 510 passthru to use on the USB, if you are on a computer a lot. Very convenient, and saves on your batts.

Have fun! Vape on!

Welcome! My first experience was with SE also. So sorry to hear they got to you also, but for many people the kiosk in the mall is their first contact with an eCig. C'est la vie...

After being completely underwhelmed by my SE, I tried a Joye306a Super-mini (the little brother of the 510) but the battery life was so short that I wasn't incredibly happy with those either. After doing a lot of research I ended up right where you are now - with the Joye510.

Try the Straw Mod with your 510. You won't believe the difference it will make! But I also frequently use the 306 attys with the 510 batteries (interchangeable parts are a nice thing) and find that is a very satisfying vapeing experience.

Welcome to the forum, and as always, if you have questions the experts here are more than willing to share their knowledge.

Ok, I have officially LOST MY MIND! Yesterday I ordered a PCC, USB passthrough, spare attys and batteries for my 510's from Cignot, and a bunch of flavored juices from Ms. T. Today I unfortunately found the Janty eGo thread and guess what? Yeah, I ordered one of them this morning from Janty USA. Somebody stop me! 8-o Ah, still cheaper than analogs, obviously healthier and honestly, MORE FUN! I love tinkering with stuff and my e-cigs have become new "toys" to play with.

Ecigs (and this forum) ROCK!
