Ok I posted this in someone elses thread as a suggestion, and thought I would bring it into its own thread. Since making it I have found how much I like having a good portable adapter for USB PT for my car.
I basically took one of each of these to create it.
(1) DC2DC converter In:3-30v Out:1.3-18v
(1) 1-6S LED Voltage Display
(1) Enclosed 4 "AA" Baterry Holder
(1) Used Cigarette male power adapter
(1) USB Female cable ends

Here is the basic layout of the idea:

Now you can see the advantages of having a good power adapter that can be set to the voltage you want running any atty you can think of on you PT. Since this is a 3A max power supply and you are running it off your car, even HV attys would be supported by this with plenty of amps to spare.

Here are some pics, the USB connector I split down one side and removed the actual connector. Once I had the hole cut I inserted it into the box, and super glued the plastic USB housing back onto the connector. And then super glued it to the case.

Here are a couple pics of the box assembled:

And here is one in action, I will be mounting this with velcro so I can move it between my car and my wifes car. I did also notice that when I set it to 4.5 volts and hit the PT switch the power dropped .1v so I was getting 4.4 volts under load. (not bad)

Now I can use any of my PT's in my car with any atty I have connected to it. At 4.5v on my XL CE2 tank it produced a better vape than my 2.5 radio shack 4.5v USB adapter. What a difference!

Well I hope this helps someone looking for a good "Cheap" USB power adapter for their PT in their car!
Total cost minus USB adapter and 12v cigarette adapter was $13.50
