ever since the 3Ds came out I have said I wouldn't buy one till they came out with a Zelda edition, it was a long wait but once it did I rushed out to the nearest game stop lol.

Thing's freaking BEAUTIFUL. I tried to resist, but in the end the 3DS beat me. OoT in 3D is definitely an experience. Hopefully they'll do Majora's Mask next. I know, not as good, but once I beat OoT again (and I'm pacing myself!) I'll want another fix.
Lol I agree, I picked up ridge racer to keep me busy and take oot breaks and got super Mario for Xmas I recommend both

Majoras mask was such a dark Zelda game...I loved it. Twilight princess was an absolute masterpiece but my favorite is still a link to the past.

yep link to the past is a great game. If you get a flash cart for your 3ds you can run emulators and in turn run link to the past.

I recommend a DSLite to use with your flashcard, you can pick up a used one for next to nothing now.
I'm keeping my 3DS free of homebrew.
I don't want any homebrews, or music players, I only want something that will play emulators, get all the old snes games with me at all times

Lol, that's what homebrew is.
The DSLite does not keep a record of what games you've played, and the flashcards don't mess with the RAM of the unit.
Right now, 3DS flash cards only play DS games, are affected by the system updates and have the possibility to Brick your 3DS.
Not worth it in my opinion. My DSLite has a ton of emus on there. Nothin better than playing a handheld version of Jumpman Jr!
Nintendo used to say the same thing about modchips in the wii system and having installed hundreds i can say that this is a scare tactic used my Nintendo. There is no way Nintendo would put out an update that bricks a system that has been modified. The legal ramifications would be incredible. Remember modification in and of it self is not illegal. Neither is Homebrew.
Now emulators are on a fine line of what is legal and what isnt because most roms have reached an age where they are for all intensive purposes freeware and any rights they would have had is over.Also remember modification is a great way to protect your investment in games as under the DCMA is completely legal to have a backup of a game you legally own. I have seen several people use modification on a system when they have kids to protect the discs from getting scratched or damaged. Im sure we've all owned a game that we paid $60 for all for it to be scratched or damaged and it sucks.
On another note i should say that Nintendo can however put out an update that stops the flash cart from working but, most flash carts come with the ability to be updated by the manufacturer so it could be easily bypassed.
In the end the choice is yours but, if fear of bricking your system is what holds you back i would reconsider getting one as having the ability to play homebrew be it in apps or emulators is great.

That is a fine line that's going to take years and hundreds of thousands of dollars to legally clarify.
Also, updates to the wii did not brick your system, they removed all traces of homebrew, and users ran into issues with bricks related to re-installing iOS's, trying to re-install homebrew, or updating certain software.
That's wrong. It is illegal in the US/UK/Canada. Old console roms are also illegal to own. There are fair use roms, but they're crap and few and far between.
Check out the nintendo EULA. No backups.
Again, with no 3DS roms, and the fact that the DS roms interact with the RAM of the machine, to me it's not worth it.
But on a $70 DSLite, it's a much easier choice.
