OK for now I'm using a EGO 650 PTand a reg run of the mill tank w/xl 1.5 dct cart. I drilled out the single hole slightly for more juice flow. After about 3 or 4 good hits it starts getting hot on the metal drip tip. Why is it getting hot? I'm waiting on 18650's and will be using an Indulgence at 3.7v when they arrive. Should I move up in resistance? I love the Visions and they don't get hot like the tank does. The Visions are 2.1-2.4 ohm
Also the tanks are VERY Harsh taste.
Can you guys tell me what to do. I'm ready to throw that thing in the river!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming that passthrough is a regulated 3.3volt
A 1.5 ohm carto is pushing a bit over 7.26watts.
A 2.3 ohm vision pushes 4.75 watts.
If its not regulated the wattage numbers go up.

More watts equal more heat. More heat equals a greater chance of burning the juice creating that harsh taste.

Maybe a stupid question but if you like the Vision why not just go that route???

To answer the question: I suppose the math changes with dual cores... Never really thought about it. The premise still holds though, all else being equal the lower the ohm the hotter the vape. Why not just try 2.0, 2.3, 2.5 ohm (whatever is offered in the range) dual core if you want to stick with the DCT.

Indulgence is unregulated mod, meaning that it starts at 4,2V and is slowly dropping voltage as battery drains. Even at 3,7V you will notice the difference to ego.
"BAD" taste doesn't describe much. Maybe you just dislike vaping on cartos with fillers. Or there's something wrong with particular cartos you're using.

If you move up in resistance, you'll get less vapor but it will be cooler.

The off taste means one of a few things; if you didn't wait for the carto to fill after filling the tank, and didn't prime it, you probably burned the filler material. That stuff tastes like crap when its burned. The other thing might be that your juice sucks.

I'd try a fresh carto, pop it in the tank and fill the tank, then fill the carto like you weren't using a tank. See if that improves the flavor. I'll bet it does.

What kind of juice are you using?

Yea I always prime the cart first and even let it sit for several mins before I start using the tank. The juice is 50/50 ecblend coffee type flavor. It is AWSOME in the vision, so I don't think its the flavor. I'm starting to think its the filler, but like I said I always prime the tank first. I even drilled oput the whole a little and it was still harsh. I'm going to order a couple different carts in a single coil and see what happens before I throw it away, lol The cart is a 1.5 DC. Think I'll try a 2.0 SC and see how it is.

OK I have an update. Finally got my 18650's and got them charged up. I saved 1 1.5 ohm DC cart. I filled my cart and tank with my FoxMochaNut and it's ALOT better. It is close to what I get from the visions. So I'm guessing that the extra volts is agreeing with the 1.5 DC. I'll test a full charged battery in the morning to see what the actual volt is at full charge and see what it says.
