This is just begging to be used in our mods.
It's a 2" cube format. That would make for a nice fit in your hand. not a bad price, and it's already
4.8volts (and 3500mAh). all you would need is a 3amp switch and an atty connector.
no need for boosters or switching regulators.

What ya think gang?

poland, and the brassy lands of google
There's also a nimh version that is 4 stacked cells and a bit longer than an 18650, I believe the jackbox (youtube) uses both. Generally nimhs drive me nuts (camera) and the bulk isn't too pleasing either. I'm not sure how a 2" block fits with a thin atty and switch spacewise either... But that's just me.

It looks like its 4 "C" or "sub C" sized Nimh cells in series in a pack. It's effectively a puck but will require a specialized charger.
3.7V cells come in various formats because thats the voltage of a single cell. 1.2V NiMH cells come in the same variety of sizes as do 3.3V cells.
Performance wise, it should deliver slightly more power(less voltage drop) than the Puck due to the lower internal resistance/high capacitance.
