If a smaller-than-14500 batt has close to the same mAh, then I am totally willing to try them out.

You're not going to find it since for li-ion cell bats the diameter plays a part in the sustainable discharge rate. Your only option at this point would be to use li-poly but they are significantly more dangerous to mod with. Unless you have past experience with them I wouldn't go that route.

So the 10440's don't pack enough punch. What about some other smaller batts? I'm sure there must be a size that has enough power to satisfy but small enough to make smaller mods with.
For the most part it's always about how much current cells can provide. At CPF the AW guy said their Li-Ion 10440's have a max discharge rate of 600mA. That's really quite pathetic.

Making small, means making compromises.

You may want to look into these cells.

Li-lon Cylindrical Battery(130450 650mAh 3.7V) products, buy Li-lon Cylindrical Battery(130450 650mAh 3.7V) products from alibaba.com

I don't know if these are the cells used in eGo's, but they are right size and a different chemistry than our typical Li-Ions.

This response by Scottbee (who never guesses/assumes) was from a comment that the eGo batts can't keep up with LR atties.

Scottbee:

I don't know what you mean by that. The 130450 battery can produce 2-3 Amps in 10 second bursts without really breaking a sweat. As a matter of fact, it can produce 5 times that.....

Those are nice little batts right there in that link, too bad it's on Alibaba lol but those might be worth a shot.

Oh come on the min order is only 1000 pieces @ $1.95 a piece. $1950.00 bucks shouldn't be too hard on the wallet. Although knowing most of those sellers on ali, you will have to pay 4 grand for shipping :)

Yeah I've seen some deals on Ali but passed them up, and glad I did. That place is horrible.

There's a shorter batt, something like half the height of a 14500, but I don't remember what the name of it was. I don't think it was Li-Ion CR2, and I think it's a little taller than a CR2, and it's 3.6 or 3.7v, does this ring a bell?

wasn't trying with the single. Tried it with a pair. Fully charged, the pair(unloaded) put out about 3.6 volts. Straight to an atty, it dropped to 3.1ish volts. That stayed pretty consistent whatever atty or carto I tried. I found that to be (barely) vapeable. When I hooked the booster up... well, lets just say the performance was not what I expected. It didn't blow up or anything. Unloaded I got a consistent 4.95v out, that was after leaving it on for about 15 minutes, nary a hiccup. As soon as I popped an atty on there, 3.1, 3.09, 3.08, 3.07. Fast dropout of voltage... Needless to say, it seemed almost worthless. Maybe 3 in a series? Wonder if the chip will be able to handle that with a load on it. Been sick and busy with work, but I will give it a try when I can.
