I found a vape and juice just a few days ago that i liked and i hadnt smoked a cig since. But for some reason tonight i really had a crave for a real cigarette and i gave in. It tastes horrible and disgusting but some how pleasurable. Im sure this is normal for a newbie thats trying to quit analogs but i feel like i failed at my goal of quiting. Any words of encouragement from anyone in the same predicament?

Don't feel bad, bro. I've been vaping for about 9 months now and the first 2-3 weeks are going to be the roughest. Especially when you walk past a smoker on the street and the smoke still smells good but after about a month or two it starts to smell like fresh fried donkey s**t and you don't even wanna try to smoke anymore. Just take a few extra drags on the vape and think about how much money you're saving and how much you must smell like a candy factory by comparison.

Yes, keep at it.. i have been trying for 1 month. I still get the occasional urge. I am about to move across country quiting a job i love and have none lined up and attempting to quit analogs talk about stress. What i do know is DO NOT GIVE UP OR BE HARD ON YOURSELF. Big tabacco puts soo much crap in these things just to keep us addicted. I have soo many different juices. I find if i get bored with a flavor i want an analog. So i switch flavors everyday or even once a day. I have been on 6 nic and sometimez find i need to add some 12 nic to avg. 9 nic. It helps experiment you will find what works for you.

The shop i went to started me on 24mg. Might be a bit much but it kept me from smoking an analog from the time i walked out of the store. It did feel to easy just to stop. I havent tried switching flavors yet but i will. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I dont really have anyone else that supports the switch. All i get is negative comments about how in the future it will turn out to be so much worse to vape than smoke. I am greatful for this forum. Its the only place i can truthfully speak my mind

You haven't failed. I have always said, Ecigs are not a direct 1:1 replacement for regular cigarettes. They will, however, greatly reduce the urges and allow you to go longer without a cigarette. It's ok if you had to smoke a regular cigarette. E Cigarettes have won for 3 days... now make them win for the next 3 days if you can. You've done it once, now see if you can do it again.

Great JOB,
When I smoked...4 days at about 40 per day, 160. Smoke 1, that means I would have NOT smoked 159 cigarettes in 4 days. Hells Yeah!!!
How many DIDN'T you smoke?

See ya round

Most people do not know the truth about vaping. I used to smoke a pack a day. I never intended to quit. I started ecigarettes as "a safer way to smoke", and I allowed myself to vape indoors, and smoke outdoors. When I went from a pack/day to 3/day instantly, I was impressed.... after fiddling with cigalikes, I realized, something more is needed.. so I bought an EGO.. went from 3/day to 1/day... then 1 every other day... bought a vamo (15w) to a bigger atomizer.. went from 1/every day to every once in a while...... one day, I challenged myself..how long can I go with just ecigs...

that was almost 2 years ago... still going, and don't even own a pack of cigarettes or a lighter.

Now, I started at 18/24 mg of nicotine... now I am down to 4/6mg. I hear it all the time... "you're smokin' antifreeze" is one thing I hear a lot from one co-worker. He's right, but ignorant to the truth.. yes, Propylene Glycol IS used as an antifreeze.. BUT it's used as a non-toxic marine/aircraft antifreeze because the other one was poisonous.. They decided to use a food additive to lower the freezing point... Much the same way Salt is used... of course, as he eats his chips, I don't say "you have antifreeze sprinkled all over those chips"

I guess I went off on a rant... You'll hear bad things about ecigs everywhere. Especially smokers who aren't in the mindset to quit... they are dead-set on smoking. I was a smoker... I know what they feel.. I remember the tightening of the chest when I woke up... I remember the wheezing when I did anything athletic, I remember the smell of my fingertips... NONE of that now with ecigs. I've never had a complaint about how my Ecig smells.. sometimes if I do manage to get juice on me, they think I smell like a bakery product. :) Even *if* ecigs are just as bad as regular cigarettes, you get none of the side effects of smoking. However, they ARE safer.

If you doubt ecigarettes are safe, look at the negative reports about ecigarettes. See where people are getting their ammunition to spout at you. You'll notice most sites that claim ecigarettes are bad focus on ecigarettes are a gateway to smoking, or ecigarettes contain nicotine, or ecigarettes have a chemical found in regular cigarettes.... Well, look at it from someone who ALREADY smoked and is not a child... none of that pertains to you. And if it has ONE of a chemical of a regular cigarette, that means you're taking out 100+ other chemicals. Remember, Nicotine is not a carcinogen... it's main bad point is it's addictive.

Good luck in your quitting..... Remember, we're here for support as well as to answer any questions... and some of us (like me) might have to get up on a soap box or two. :)

No Worris when i first switched i took baby steps i went from a pack and half to half pack in week then to 4 a day then 2 then 1 and none but i had cravings and would give in and at first i would get down on myself kinda a failure thing but i looked at it as a good thing because yes i smoked an analog but doing so lessend the craving the urge it actually pushed me further into ecigs and yes i had a couple of more give ins but each and every time the one cig i had was the ony one and not even the whole ting the last one i had was literally one puff i light it and tasted it and said enouph. it was hard but easy at the same time as long as you know its better for you and u keep ur head up and not say well i smoked one might as well keep smokeing. just keep motivated and know ull have cravings and u can give in as long as ur goign down everyones diffrent some people can just pick up ecig and say im done with the analogs others it takes time as long as you get there is all that matters. ive been vape free for a year now. and im sure youll get there too.

hope this helpes

When I started vaping , was only in my car or home , but smokin at work or any place there people around me since some give strange look , well they still now but I dont care anymore.

After amonth of vaping toke cig , 3 puffs and all headache comes from no where.

After 3 months while my friends smokin I toke one from them and tried to smoke it all , 5 puffs maybe and I toke my mod and start vaping to take all that bad taste from my mouth.

Keep vaping and with days you may want to go back , but since your sense of taste are back n better you gonna hate smoking and its smell , even when ya try to go back u cant.

Thats my stroy it may not work with you , but it did to me and some people I know.

It probably is pretty normal.
In my case, I probably had a cigarette occasionally for the first two weeks or a month after I started vaping.

failed??? what you mean failed?? how many ciggies did you NOT smoke in that time period? Making the transition to vaping away from smoking is not easy to start with... the body still craves more than just nic, there are all sorts of other alkyloids (sp)in ciggies that are not present in the avg juice ( altho one can get WTA's to add to the juice). It took me 6 months to loose the craving for real ciggies, and on occasion I still have a ciggie... but the important part is Im not smoking my 3 PAD anymore...

Keep trying flavors until you find the one perfect combination. It took me a while to but when you do find the one with the right taste and throat hit you will like it better than cigs. I did the same thing, my wife smokes so there was no escaping it. But I found that one juice and I didn't really want to go back to smoking. One thing that still gets to me is when I have a beer. I don't do it but it crosses my mind every time. Lol

Good luck

I still get cravings for cigarettes but its not nearly as bad as it was about a month ago when they came on fast and strong. I smoked one and it tasted horrible, but I haven't had the strong urge for another one since. Try to vape through the cravings. If you still really really want a cigarette after five or ten minutes of vaping, have one and don't torture yourself with guilt. Then go back to vaping. You'll find the urges get less and less. Good luck.
