I've been vaping exclusively (last analog was 3/31/10) for 4 months now but I'm still having some problems. I think it must be a problem with the way I'm filling the juice.
My attys just don't seem to last long at all. I started with a 510 and upgraded to a Riva about a month ago. I know attys aren't supposed to last a long time, but most of mine get really weak after about 7-10 days. They get really hard to drag, throat hit gets weak, etc. The strange thing is that I do have one that is still functioning at 100% after 3 months of usage. But anyway, my method for filling has always been to put drops in, take a toothpick and move the filler around to help it absorb. I remember reading that it should look like a slurpee. Perhaps, I'm putting too much in there?
Anyway, here's the steps I'm starting to take to rectify this....I hope these will help:
1) Changing the carts out more frequently. I've been using the carts for 3-4 weeks without changing. I notice the new carts seem to absorb the juice better.
2) Blowing the atty out once a day and alternating attys every other day.
3) Putting less juice in at a time. Maybe 5-6 drops as opposed to 12. I thought the capacity was closer to 15 but maybe that info was incorrect.
I tried a Coke bath with 3 old attys yesterday. One of them is working great again, the other 2 didn't seem to be helped. But, hey at least I salvaged one.
I also bought an LR atty yesterday and tried it out in the Riva. I still can't get rid of the burnt taste, but maybe it just needs broken in more.
Anyway, if anyone has any advice for me that would be great. A properly working atty makes me never want to go back to analogs ever again.
