Hello,

After 41 years smoking tobacco I smoked my last cigarette five weeks three days several hours and a few minutes ago. Yes, I am counting but not exactly. I'm shocked, amazed, surprised, stoked, relieved and probably other things too. I just wanted to post in a public location to add to the public record that e-cigs have helped another person stop smoking tobacco.

I had the flu five weeks, several days etc ago. Sweats, chills, a horrible cough that wouldn't quit and was in and out of sleep for three days. I don't know why, maybe I was surfing the web, but the first thing I did when I could move was get an electronic cigarette from 7-11. I started surfing YouTube for e-cigs and bought a starter kit for the only brand the local smoke shop had. I surfed YouTube deeper and I now have a better brand from Hawaii with tanks, clearomizers and other scary stuff. I have to stop surfing YouTube.

One nice part is how interested some of the smokers at work are. They ask a lot of questions: was it easy? how long has it been? and maybe the light will go on for them but I've noticed they blow smoke away from me, hold their cigarettes off to the side or even stand ten feet away and talk LOUD. I feel like I've gone from being a socially marginalized smoker to just a nicotine addict LOL.

Regards,
Ray

Congratulations on quitting and welcome!!! And good for you for adding your voice - when I realized how workable ecigs were in changing a long-time tobacco addiction I couldn't understrand why all the doctors weren't jumping up and down shouting this from the rooftops (still don't understand that actually!)

Your smoking friends are probably concerned the smell of smoke will make you relapse! Strangely (although I still like the smell) catching a whiff of smoke doesn't make me crave a cigarette ... Although I'm sure that I'm probably using the ecig a minute later! Hope some of your friends are curious enough to give ecigs a try ...

I'm not sure what I had. From a medical site I had all the symptoms of lung cancer but then I had all the symptoms of Malaria plus a several other diseases besides. I figured if I didn't wake up dead then I have the flu. Vaping is fun and all but there is a serious side. So far it's working fine...and fun. I have a small collection of strange gadgets I take apart, put together, polish, charge, break, admire...

Regards,
Ray

Maybe they think I'm an ex-smoker, that'll take a while to wrap my head around :)
