Its a good looking mod, but I wouldn't buy for 2 reasons.

It's not clear what battery chemistry it is or if it's protected battery.

4800 mah is probably bogus. I don't think you can truly get more than 2000 mah out of a 18650.

Point 3: that wall wart charger at 375 mah charge rate would take like 36 hours to fully charge a 4800 battery.

Don't trust the advertising, so I don't trust the product.

Sent from somewhere on planet Earth.

That is crap battery and it's not worth the label that is printed on. You would be well advised to buy good battery for it be NCR, AW, Panasonic.... etc etc... the rest of the equipment is to be seen if its good enough? I suggest to wait for a review.

If you inclined to buy this and use, I suggest buy a good battery to go with it and recycle the included battery. Charger tho may be useful.

If you want to go sub-ohm, these are the batteries you want: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...onic-cgr18650ch-rechargeable-2250mah-37v-1865

And this is the charger you want: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...ore-i2-lithium-li-ion-ni-mh-ni-cd-smart-batte

Just remember, the max current on those batteries is 10A, so I wouldn't recommend you go lower than 0.5ohm which is around 7A.

In addition, in order to provide the power draw needed for sub-ohm, those batteries are unprotected. So if you drain them below 3.3v, you increase the chances of blowing your face off. So be careful and make sure you've got a good idea of what you're doing with a mech mod before messing around.

Hey, I was on fasttech and I saw they were selling the sentinel clone and it came with a 18650 4800mAh battery. Is this safe to go sub-olm on?

$24.61 V3 MOD 3-in-1 Telescoping Electronic Cigarette Battery Compartment - 1*18650 / silver / US plug charger at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Batts and charger are low quality and I really doubt the batts are true 4800 mah.

Largest quality 18650 batts I've found are the Pansasonic 3400 mah from FT. I own them and they perform quite well. Quality batts, in no particular order, are Panasonic, eFest, AW.

AW IMR are not sold in cheap chinese web stores, (at least I haven't found any.) Here is one in the states and this store is very reliable and frequented by flashoholics.

IMR type batteries handles hi current drain very well and much much less likely to blow up in your face!

Please read some reviews about them first;

wish they had something you could screw on the 510 connection and it would tell you the volts your battery is at, if they do please link it :)

Google is your friend.:)

It appears only Breeze Smokes (last link) has any in stock. You can buy all the parts from Mad Vapes though to make your own.

You do realize AW are rebranded Panasonic's that have been quality tested, right? They're good quality, but the Panasonic's I linked are definitely in the same class.

Although, I do agree that Lighthound is a good site to order from and the IMR type is a safer chemistry.

AW batts are merely re wrapped batteries manufactured by other companies. AW does not manufacture batteries. As of 6 months ago Panasonic was AW's main supplier.
As for quality batts Panasonic supplies the positively reviewed and highly regarded batts for the Tesla electric car.

Given the history of the Tesla electric car that isn't much of an endorsement, LOL. Panasonics are considered, at least to everything I've read, to be about the best out there, Tesla not withstanding.
A few friends own the Tesla and are very impressed. I own the stock and have DD'ed the company and the car fully. Tesla reviews are very positive, sales through the roof, just added this a.m. to the Naz 100...CEO Musk, founder of PayPal, is a visionary and one of the reasons I bought the stock.

Off topic but I am pining for a Tesla so bad... Saw one (it was an S) two days ago and almost stalked it just so I could get a first hand look at the interior.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I've seen too many horror stories about Tesla cars going dead and needing to be carefully flat bed towed back to the factory when the batteries shut down, and they shut down whether the driver wants them to or not to protect them as they did for the New York Times review. It is a nice concept, beautiful automobile, expensive, but not very practical, not enough range, and I always wonder if anyone considers the energy required to manufacture the batteries, charge them and then safely dispose of them or the pollution that seems rampant where many of those batteries are manufactured. The bottom line is that the energy density of batteries is just not high enough to compete, economically or practically, with gas/diesel yet.

Any step in any direction is a good one as long as if furthers R&D which lowers cost and makes the tech more bulletproof in future production. The internal combustion engine has been defunct for many many decades and it's time for it to be put to rest. Either that or it at the very least needed the serious revamp that is currently going on in the automotive industry. No new tech can be fully formed until it has had some real world use and testing. Do I want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere because my expensive electric car died... no but I do want to see us move on to the next step of evolution of the automobile. Without competition, the prodding of the government and the increased understanding and outspokenness of we the consumer we'd still be thinking 28mpg was good. 28mpg is now a minivan, sedans are hitting 40 and we have a production EV that can hit 250 miles per charge, I'm good with that. I'd also love to see the percentage of failure for Tesla in comparison to a new petrol motor right after it's been put into production.
