I noticied the other day something new and strange when I was using the 4nine. After a few vapes, I noticied the firing button was getting hot. I was using it with my orchid v2 built @ 0.7ohms. I am also using the LG HE2 battery. I did drop the mod a week ago but it worked fine afterwards until the other day. I do frequently clean my equipment so I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol. All pieces look fine and connect well without gaps. Can this problem be the magnets of the 4nine? I tested my battery and it was fine. I even used that same battery and orchid in my SMPL mod with no problems. Any and all help would be great.

No idea if you have a clone or authentic. Different cloners made different versions (inside diameter,etc.) I have the authentic; so my
results may be different than yours. There are kits available with stronger magnets, and the delrin covered magnet for
the bottom of the battery is thicker; thus reducing the throw of the switch without stacking magnets.
- Tarsius Customs built this mod to use button top batteries. That's what they suggest. I've tested mine with flat tops, but it changes
the switch throw, and I've seen some people stacking the small magnet to make up for the button. This is a workaround; but in my
opinion, not a good (safe) one. Been using the Efest V2 2250 button top, and Samsung 25R button top batteries without issue.
- I have used my Orchid V6 on this mech (between .4 - .8) without issue. I always uncrew the pin a bit more, for safety sake.
- Might be a dumb question, but does your 4Nine have the black delrin in the top cap? Hopefully so.
- The only modification I made was lightly sanding the sharp top edge of the switch button. Referring to the part that faces the bottom
of the battery. The button is much smoother now ... see: not as crunchy.

I went into one of my local B&M's last week intent on purchasing a 4nine, and they talked me out of buying it. They told me they had experienced issues with them self/auto firing for no apparent reason. Did a bit more research at home and saw a handful of hot button issues, and the lack of a recess in the top to prevent shorts should the button happen to get pressed without an atty installed. Decided I was grateful for the shops honesty, and bought a smpl instead.
Anyway, if you're getting a hot button I'd imagine it's due to a poor connection somewhere in the assembly. Where exactly, I dont know, but I'd be cleaning and exploring any metal to metal connections for oxidation, dirt, looseness, poor fit, etc. If all else fails, the answer may be Smpl.

Well, my SMPL clones (SS, I have two) are doing the same thing so not all SMPL clones are the greatest thing in the world. Not sure the issue with your mod but you may want to consider looking into an authentic if you have a clone. Authentic SMPl, Praxis and 4Nine mods are less then $150 which isn't that bad if you use it for even a year. I plan to use my authentic for many years so the price will be worth it IMO.
If you dropped it, there's a very good possibility that the magnets cracked. Don't know if that's the cause of your problem, but you might wanna check it out.
