Been using a 4nine copper mod since Jan this year, magnets are starting to weaken a bit.... Some random Google searches makes me think it'd be easier to buy a new mod than trying to replace the magnets.... I could always get a clone from FT, but I prefer going through local vendors, if possible....

I'm looking at a SMPL and the Wotofo Phantom. Has anyone had the chance to use both of these and a 4nine to compare?
Is there much of a difference among them? Any other recommendations?

The 4nine was an upgrade from ego c's
I have an rda and an RTA, I build as low as 0.3 ohms and have been known to go up to 2 ohms. Have a pair of vtc 4s and a purple efest, all flat tops.
Thanks

Replacing the magnets would not be hard to do and far cheaper than going for an upgrade device if funds are a concern? Just buy a Kick 2 and put in the 4nine mod. That would be an upgrade and boost in the mech. device.I have not used or have either of the mod's you posted but I do have several mech's in my arsenal and they are awesome but an upgrade would be a regulated device in my opinion.

So the magnet kit arrived, got a bit of work to do.... Had issues getting the button magnet out, it was brittle on the edges and turned to dust when trying to pry it out. It seems to be set it pretty tight, couldn't force it out through the hole on the bottom of the switch. Had to break it into pieces which only seemed to work for the surface of the magnet, so I'm working on drilling the entire hole out, which works out in the end as the replacement magnet is a bit taller than the original one....
Next issue, the magnet for the delrin ring is huge, and the brass piece it sits in is even bigger.... Working on sanding down the brass, as right now, there is no throw at all, it would force constant contact fully assembled....
So, while working out these kinks, I'm using it without the delrin magnet piece and no magnet in the button, essentially turning it into a gravity switch, and it hits like a monster compared to prior with the magnets....

I do not understand why the magnets are being such a pain in the @#$ to get out?? Unless over time they have worn away the coating where they set and are actually magnetized to the mod itself??
Yeah, no idea, unless the button had two magnets or was somehow fused or forced into the button.... But I'd have to drill the hole for the magnet to fit a taller magnet anyways....

So the rest of the magnet came out with a bit more drilling.... The replacement magnet is still too tall for the button though....

So my options are trying to sand everything down so it fits and has room for a throw, remove the insulator from the magnet for the button and use the original magnet in the delrin or continue using it without the magnets.... I'm liking the way it hits right now with no magnets and the insulator removal option is probably the easiest....

Eventually I'll retire it, though....

Minor point, us mech users don't "upgrade" we add to our collections! Best of luck with the 4nine switch! I wish I could offer advice but I've never owned one.
Hence the "upgrade" rather than an upgrade.... But it seems like it was more of a replacement thn anything.... Since I bought the Phantom, I've kept an rda on the 4nine and a RTA on the Phantom.... I was rebuilding the rda, had half the 4nine tube attached to the rda deck as its easier for me to work on, dropped it and it messed up some threads.... I was able to reshape everything, just have to keep an eye on the battery wraps, in case I missed something and it starts tearing.... I'm sure I'm losing something at the damage site, but it's only for a dripper that gets used for a few drips a night while at home when I need it compared to my tank and when testing out a new coil....
