Just tested it with a 18490 and it would auto fire. the kick was just a little to long. i did not try any other batteries just a AW nipple top

Try it with the 16mm extension.. it could work.. it's not designed to be main tube-16mm extension-14mm extension.. you can feel the extension tubes when you have it in that configuration... but I would think using the 16mm/18650 extension would work with a kick..throw may be pretty long if you don't have a long pin. For using 18350 battery.
