If Raising the Delrin stops the misfire, you need to examine the inner workings of the switch.The button shaft is not making good contact to the threaded section.
May be to much machining gap or even a dirty bore, but it is not right.
A good copper Spring should make a big difference also.

No overheating on my Maraxus or my Sons - without modifications.

* Note - Never add magnets to a Switch that is already having issues. Many rely on the spring to carry part of the current load.

regardless, just lengthening the throw makes it work; obviously if the unit is already functioning properly you wouldn't have to mess with it.

I've found the same with my Stingray Clone, actually, even though many had no problems mine was UNUSABLE out of the box, more misfires than fires, without unscrewing/extending the bottom magnetic switch and without unscrewing the derlin a small touch. Now it works flawlessly.
