5 day Vaper here..... newbe

Hi,
bouncing around the net and stumbled in here....Very cool. I put down the SMOKES 5 days ago and all going well with my E-cigs. Actually kinda new to forums lots of buttons in here :}
So the deal is I have smoked since I was 12 and Im now 47, I dont even want to do that math.
Who else in here is an X heavy smoker, vaping now?

Raven - Many around here like yourself including me. I'm 47 yo, a 1-1/2 pack a day smoker for 30+ years. Discovered e-cigs and got my starter kit on 9/1/10 - I had a few regular cigs ("analogs") a day for the first week or so, but have been smoke free ever since. I feel 1000% better as I am sure you will also too! Welcome to the world of vaping and to the ECF!

Hi and welcome to ECF. I think most of us are ex-heavy smokers. I smoked for 30+ years. Got my first vape in June, had exactly 3 cig's since. I haven't had one since July so it's been a few months. I don't miss'em, or the cost, or the smell, or the taste, or the ......

Wow, I'm not alone! Awsome to hear good news. I did try all the traditional quit smoking ways. After the last chantix attempt my doctor actually told me and I quote "some people are just smokers".........I was floored........LOL
He thinks the vaping thing is ok. Keep off the anaolgs (I love that).

I was a 2 PAD smoker for 33 years, have been analog free for 6 weeks now and don't even really crave them anymore. I still carry a pack in my purse but they are there more for me to know I don't need them.

Welcome, Raven. I think alot of people here were heavy smokers. I was 2 pad and sometimes more for over 30 years. It is still a struggle but I feel a hundred times better.

Nope, hardly alone here. A good many of us have similar stories of trying to quit. I think I tried just about everything, too. Gum, patches, Zyban, cold f'ing turkey. It all sucked and none of it worked. My doctors have been harping at me for years to quit smoking due to my health. I think they will be most pleased that I've started vaping.

Welcome!!! I've been smoking as long as you've been alive. Ended up 2.5 pad. Pretty horrible! However, since I got my Joye Ego, I haven't looked back. It's all I need now. I've even cut back on the mgs that I vape amazingly faster than I ever expected. Have worked my way down to 12mg with signs that it is even becoming too much. Not everyone can do it this easy, but it has worked for me very well. Since everyone is different, don't get discouraged if you can't give up the analogs right away, just keep vaping. When I get down to 0mg nic, I will be incredibly happy. If I vape 0mgs the rest of my life that will be just fine w/me. If I no longer feel a need to vape, that's good too, just as long as the analogs are a thing of the past.

I'm shooting for the "old man" award. I'm 76. I'm not sure when I started but somewhere in the late 40's. As the old saying goes: Quitting is easy. I've done it a dozen times! I took up ecigs just about one week ago and I can't believe that I don't crave tobacco. My first ecig kit was the Smoking Stick. I admit to not having done any research before buying it. Things are good but after what I have read here I ordered the Joye ego which I should have in a few days.

O I remember the Zyban attempt........LOL, That stuff made me smoke like a frieght train!! I couldent sleep, dident want to eat and I remember feeling my hair growing......I hope your Doctor give you a thumbs up:}

Congrats, I am new and was a heavy smoker also. The e cig made a huge difference, and made it so easy to put the analogs down.

Hello Raven and Whaap and welcome to ECF. Another ex heavy smoker here. 42 years. At one time was up to 3+ pad, back when cigs were cheap. I got "down" to 2 pad before I took up vaping about 3 months ago. Haven't had a cig since. I'm still amazed at how easy it was to just give up cigarettes.

I guess its time to throw out those 5 packs of Basic lights I have vacuum sealed in the freezer since July.
