let me try the juices on my Duke at their store. Here is a brief description of each. I tried them from low to high wattage. You can see 5 Pawns description of each flavor here.

Castle Long

This is the non oak barrel steeped version, to see the what I though of the oaked barrel steeped version click here. It has more coconut is sweeter, and is not as good as it is steeped in oak. The once great bourbon flavor without the wood tastes more bottom shelf than the castle long reserve. This ejuice is better at higher wattages.

Perpetual Check

The juice has a nice citrus mix which is a tad tart with the hint of fig, barley, and something interesting. It has a sparking flavor taste at higher wattages and is a complex flavor that I would highly recommend. It tastes like the juice can use some more time steeping.

64 Sixty Four

It's a sweet mojito lime fusion ejuice. It's better at high wattage but it is too much of a candied vape for me.

Lucena

It is a sweet peach. The nut is not the worst I've reviewed, but just is not for me. The rum flavor is nice and developed. It is better at lower wattages. The nuts fuse more at higher wattages.

Fifth Rank

I thought I would not like this juice because of the nutty flavors, I was wrong. The horehound, (menthol/mint flavoring you can't say without smiling) is an interesting menthol note adding a nice complexity to this juice. The lime is intense, and nicely fuses with the horehound. This one is my 2nd favorite right behind Perpetual Check. There is a hint of vanilla and lime that adds to the nut flavor. The almond is actually nice on this one seeing as I usually don’t like nut juices :p . I think it is because the nut flavor is a defined almond, and not some random mysterious nutty undertone.

In all, I think the 5 Pawn Mixology Line is amazing! I am going to try to get more of Perpetual Check and Fifth Rank, and do a graph of these two favorites like I did with Standard's Dead Mans Party. Each of those juices (with further review) has the potential to become one of my current favorite ejuices!

Nice write up. I'm still getting up close and personal with Perpetual Check and Fifth Rank. I decided to speed steep them both in my UC because I wasn't "convinced" they were properly aged. That's not a reflection on 5 Pawns but more about my own taste buds when I tried them both green. Still got another hour to run but Perpetual Check is my fav of the two and it's devine. You pretty well nailed it in your description. The tart plays nicely and is counter balanced with the subtle "sweet". A rather delicate and very complex thing to mix.

Fifth Rank I'm not so sure about. I had to lower the voltage to my dripper. I was never a menthol lover and yes that's a broad brush to use but of course I'm referring to the "horehound herb" which I hope settles a bit and perhaps is not as dominant. They both will need to sit and settle for a day.

Thanks!

All over the place
I tried these and they are high-quality liquids. I didn't care too much for Castle Long and Sixty-Four, however, that is just due to my particular likes and dislikes -- even while I might not care for some particular 5P flavors, their attention to detail, clever recipes and quality ingredients are top-notch.

Are you getting an aftertaste with Lucena? The inhale and exhale are great, but it leaves an aftertaste in my mouth that is not very pleasant and just will not go away. I'm not sure if it's the hazelnut or something else.

Ya I got that. Going to walk to the shop and try it again soon and figure out what it was. But I remember a nut taste.

You will probably like Perpetual Check, then. :) I wish I had gotten that instead of Lucena!

PC is a winner! As I noted above, I gave the two I tried 5 hours in my UC and PC smoothed out nicely. Good in a PT2, and outstanding in a dripper or KF. I have not had a chance to try FR but I'm still hopeful since my initial thoughts were no thanks but I still admire the complexity and talents involved in the mix. Should be interesting since I'm going to start with a PT2 and work my way up.

:)

Trying Luceno again today (dripping as always). Not loving the aftertaste but it's not as bad today.

One thing I noted is that they changed the toppers on their bottles, which is a good thing - the ones they were using before were defective on 4 out of 5 of my bottles. They wouldn't close completely, if you tightened them down they would bounce back a bit and if you got it just right, the slightest touch would cause the top to loosen. I emailed them about it and they said they knew. The new ones are like black versions of the ones Halo uses. Much better!
