I'm around, I've been dividing my time between ECF and twitter lately. Plus I have a sick hubby I've been trying to pay some attention to since he got home a few minutes ago.
I'm back. Went to record a vocal demo. Trying out to be the vocalist of a local band.
Thank you Count, I just told him you said "Mr. Bella" and he got a good laugh out of that!
I am tone deaf when it comes to my own singing, but I can sure pick someone out that is not in tune! LOL
Actually it brings this point up.
Halo used to run a similar "Whoever posts on this number" contest. When multiple people posts at very close times, the winner is hard to determine. If you view the thread at 40 ppp (posts per page), number 500 might be by someone different than if you view it at 10 ppp. And I think it also differs based on the device you are viewing it.
What we (Halo) did was state the official winner is based on a standard (forum default) 10 ppp and on a standard pc.
Just a thought.

I don't have any equipment actually. It was a spur of the moment thing. Just recorded it and sent it in.

Hey, I can point to at least 5 occasions where the fighting over who won continued for at least 100 posts!

The disparity in posting order is due to hosting on multiple servers and the propagation of the data between them. When the database has multiple posts with the exact same time stamp, it simply adds it to the list as the hosting server receives it. The changing order occurs as the data is reconciled between all of the servers. I don't know if that makes a lot of sense, but I'm multitasking right now and.... it's time for dinner. I'll check back later... someone will probably have won by then.

True. And it does make sense. I saw disparity even with posts just under 2 seconds apart.
And unless you are having a seven course, it prolly will still be on.
