I haven't been too many concerts since having kids.... I think the last one I went to was Gary Numan. As far as meeting bands, does having drinks with the members of the Knack count? It was the bassist's birthday when they played a club one night and during the show I happened to strike up a conversation with one his friends who'd come down (from L.A. to San Diego) to celebrate afterwards. We stayed after-hours while the club staff cleaned up around us.

That counts.
I had Get the Knack on 8 track.

I like your music Mac!

I haven't been to many concerts. Got to see Aerosmith way back when I was dating my sons father so 25+ years ago.
My hubby knows a guy that gives us free tickets to concerts, but I haven't been to but a few, because I really can't stand the crowds.
Got to see ZZ Top, 3 doors Down and Gretchen Wilson (I think that's her name) last summer.

My daughter goes to a lot of concerts because her friends momma knows the owner of a venue in Memphis, she gets to see all those crazy bands that scream all the time..,lol. Only one I actually can think of the name of is Blood on the Dance Floor. NOT my kind of scene at all :p my hubby takes her to those.

I haven't seen a 45 in years.

Might still be some at my mom's or sister's place. Might have to take a look when I'm back there in a couple weeks.
I've digitized most of my library--including 45s--to digital over the years. I still have some vinyl left on a forgotten shelf (really need to get to those), and then I'll probably begin work on my mom's record collection. She has a lot of 50's and 60's stuff....

One time they had Doc Holiday at the club on base (this was a few few years ago). They got so tore up before the show that they couldn't play - they ended up getting massive booing and end the show early. They brought the lead off band back out to finish the night. They were some unknown group out of Tenn - those guys could rock. The club brought them back again a week later.

I still remember my first concert like it was yesterday. Misfits. Just imagine a scrawny little girl hopping in the moshpit..
The first concert I ever saw was Harry Belafonte... My mom took 5-year-old me. At the time, it was quite exciting since I knew some of the songs from what my mom played at home.

My 1st one was the Statler Brothers - folks took us. I was probably abot 11 or 12. The 2nd was Barbara Mandrell - mom had won a couple tickets on the radio and a couple days later I won 2 more. Folks end up having to buy one more ticket so the whole family could go - 14 at that one. Didn't see another concert til I was out on my own.
