madvapes sells the replacement switch/connector/contact assembly, it'd be a nice option for them to add in a 5-volt regulated option rather than people swapping batteries for low/high voltage combos and hitting it on the mark in the middle at five, if there is enough space, i tried to make a five volter on a diy tube, wiring it correctly was one thing, getting it in place and not breaking stuff was another, ended up just simple switching it 'cause i couldn't fit it in...

You might post a "want to buy" in the classifieds for a 510 terminator. The schematics to make one are somewhere in the modders forum.

If there was a 5.0v regulated RS, I'd buy one... but the Maxi RS is the smallest 18650 tube mod out there, and it would be a real trick to fit anything extra in it. Other regulated 5.0v tube mods use about an inch of tube space and need to side mount the button to find enough room. The triple-v and the gold digger (same tube as the gold rush but 5.0v regulated) both come to mind.

picking between the acrylics and the roughstacks was a tough one, roughstack is more durable but the acrylics were prettier, i love the bluelightning pattern but bumping down to a 14500 when my diy tuber is 18650 was a no no, the goldrush is an 18650 but i can't stand the pattern. didn't know about the golddigger, nice find, but with the 4.8 nimh battery it kind of nulls the ten dollar difference between that and the goldrush.

Well, though I'm seriously addicted to the 4.8v ni-mh batts and I recommend them constantly, I have to say that they really don't produce 5.0v loaded unless with a high ohm single coil atty or carto. As the ohms drop, so does the voltage output. They drive the dual coils at about 4.2 loaded volts and a boge 2.0 ohm at around 4.4. - A 5.0v regulated mod with batts that can push the amps is a whole different thing. With a pair of IMR 18350s, I can use the dual and triple coils at an actual 5.0v.

This is a really handy device and makes it really easy to see what's going on running different batteries and attys/cartos. I have a couple of them (I broke the top connector on one by getting a carto stuck in it... so I own two) and they are well worth the fifteen bucks.
