I just got a 5 pk of Boge 2.0 cartos and 4 out of the 5 tested at around 2.0 ohm. The 5th one is crazy. The meter jumps around all over the place and won't settle down. The lowest I've seen it is 7.4 ohm and the highest was over 75.0 ohm. It stayed at 50.0 ohms for a few seconds then started jumping around again. What could be causing this?

Well I couldn't resist trying that 50 ohm carto. After I filled it I got burnt taste on first puff with my Riva. I tried it on my eGo with booster and set it at 3.2 and it was better but got not much flavor, TH or vapor. The I decided to check the resistance again and it read 2.5 ohms???? I don't get that. Why would filling it lower the resistance from 50 to 2.5 ohms? I doesn't perform like my other Boge 2.0 ohm cartos so I'll probably throw it away but I sure would like to know what is going on with this one.

Perhaps the coil is crushed together, which would increase the resistance of the wire at certain points of it. If you can carefully disassemble the carto, you can unwrap the filler & wrap from it and see where the problem lies.

Thank you. While I've enjoyed the funny comments, it's nice to finally get a serious response. I'll give this a try. I've got nothing to lose.

Hey again. I removed the filler but there is no way I'm going to get it back in there. The coil is protected by a sleeve so I can't see it. I really don't want to throw this carto away so I'm just going to use it for dripping. I've tried that already and it works fine as a dripper carto. Thanks for the suggestion because I was about ready to toss it.

Idk if this is the case, but maybe there is a problem with the meter or the leads didn't have a good connection

I'm sure its not the meter. I tried testing the bad carto several times with the same results and tried the other 4 cartos in the pack and they were 2.0 like they were suppose to be. I think it's just a bad cartos.

That sleeve is also a wrap. Some people here call it a diaper. You can remove it if you are careful, but if you are happy with the carto as it is, I'm glad.

Using the carto for dripping didn't last very long. It soon lost performance so I took the diaper out and it had a long burn hole in it. The carto is history now but I sure would like to know why the resistance was so high unfilled and then down where it should be when full. It probably got burnt when I put it on my Riva because that is when I first got the burnt taste. 3.7v shouldn't have burnt it when it was fully filled.

High Ohms means a partial break somewhere, infinite Ohms means a dead atty...

Chuck it and enjoy the ones that work! :D

Thanks, I didn't know that. Already chucked.

Good for you.

Yeah, if you get a reallly high Ohm reading, it's due to a bad connection somewhere.

If your coils are fused or touching, the resistance drops dangerously (and can kill your eGos or Rivas on contact--if it goes below 1Ω). I like to check the resistance of all my cartos and atties, just in case.

Good luck!
